Pics from Uwharrie NF July 26/27

We hit the trails at URE NF saturday afternoon immediately following a torrential downpour from a slow moving thunderstorm.
The crew consisted of a Land Cruiser, a Jeep Cherokee, a 4Runner and the Foz.

There were a few other rigs out for the fun.

I swear that time in the woods does more than just make ya feel young again.

After a few miles of greasy trails, where me and the Foz and the Land Cruiser left the 4Runner and the Jeep spinning on the side of the hill,:lol::lol:it was already time to make camp, so the LC and Jeep headed back toward their campsite. Before the storm they had setup camp at the top of "Daniel". The 4R and I sat at the bottom of the hill and listened to them tear the front end off the Jeep....we headed on towards falls Dam trail, a trail more suited to the conditions and the 4Runners abilities.:ebiggrin:

We camped at the edge, Richard promptly started gathering wood for a fire to run off the bugs and to warm the Boston butt that Tony brought for supper.
And time to get down to those tasty berries in the blueberry shine.

I slept in a eno hammock, Tony had a fishing net hammock and Rich made the passenger seat in the Runner a bed for the nite.

Next morning.

Coffee time.
Obviously I'm out of practice using the JetBoil...

I rode around with my rooster swinging all weekend, wait till ya see the vids.:lol:
