Build Plans
Just ordered bash plate
soon to order 2" sumo lift.
Quick sway disconnect.
Getting complete service tomoro (all fluids changed etc)
Shopping for tyres atm
way down the track, stereo

only issues to fix (that I know of) that centre diff whine (smurfs blood), and sunroof can be troublesome and stop working and require reset (havent confirmed best approach)...

Other than that seems good.

I don't know about WA but in QLD you have no hope getting mod plate without crush tubes.

For more security, i would put crush tubes, the bolts would be better tighten (i don't know if its comprehensive, sorry !)

You guys know that off the shelf sumo TA spacers dont have crush tubes?
These are the same if not better designed as link between the two is vertical instead of horizontal

Yea I spotted that when I was looking at lift kits for my SH, personally I won't use it if it doesn't have a crush tube, not even solid nylon body lift blocks for my patrol.

Sumo kits are made in US, they seem to have very relaxed modification laws.

Ok, been a long while since updates, I have been busy with my Datsuns...

Ok crushed tubes were installed long ago, and the lift is going great.

Got some big mod plans this weekend:

- SF dual range gearbox swap (My GB is knackered and I'll get 1.447 LR )
- Single Mass fly wheel with heavy duty clutch
- New struts and springs all round
- Heavy duty CV boots all round

Installation is planned to start Fri arvo/night and hopefully all finished Sat arvo...

Yay so all that work was finished and about 150km later I blow the SF gearbox...

very frustrating...

Removing it tonight, hoping the gearbox can be fixed for a reasonable amount. (over the phone discussions with Mechanics, consensus is that I have a bent selector fork or dropped the selector pin)

Assuming its reasonable to fix while its apart I'm going to mod it further.
Plans (assuming no major $ surprises):
1.6 LR
Front LSD
New syncros
New bearings

hopefully if all that is done I'll have a strong capable gearbox...
