Xs or xt

Well looks like XT it is, put a deposit on one today. 99000km on the clock full Subaru service history and a nice tidy car. Hopefully I will have all the details organised and will be able to pick it up next weekend. Then I get to drive it from Brisbane back to Townsville :)

Congrats OO

Sounds good.

Do you have a URL for the dealer?

Which model?

Take it easy on the Bruce Highway.
It is a nice little earner for the government ...
Has been ever since I first got my licence ...

I did the run a few months ago, there is no hope of speeding between gym pie and rockhampton it's roadworks the whole way. It added 2 hours to the whole drive and we were lucky with most of it.

The car is still on carsales, it's the gold one in Brisbane with 99000Km on it. MY04 XT AWD the price on the page is $13990, I got it for 13 neat with a warranty :).
It is the best one I could find. As long as the finance goes through I'll be driving it home next weekend. Also have a clause stating if he extended the truth on the condition I can walk away from it

Sounds great OO. I'm sure you'll love the XT. I test drove one a while ago & was amazed at the acceleration & driveability...just watch it coming on boost in the wet lol :iconwink:

Congrats OutbackOiler :)
You're going to live the XT mate trust me

Regards
Mr Turbo

G'day again mate

The Newell was like that when I drove up to Brissy last November.
I think they did it specially for me ... :iconwink:

I found it. Looks good, OO. Pics are lousy, but seems to be a clean unit.

I recounted my own pain finding a suitable Fox for SWMBO. Then one just fell out of the sky into our lap! Of course, watching all the web sites about 10 times a day helped ...
She loves it.
Hope your new baby suits you as well.
Personally, I prefer driving my N/A MY06 MT to hers.
We are all different, thank goodness!

congrats
has the 100K service been done? thats' around $1500

BTW, our usual mechanic, Ross, completely overhauled the air-conditioning in Roo1 for about $550 (IIRC). That included re-con of the compressor and replacement of all seals and parts to be compatible with R134A refrigerant (OEM was R12), and re-gassing with R134A.

Yours being a 2007 model, it would already have been R134A, so $2,800 seems a tad high to me :( :(
Is there something specially expensive about the air-con compressor for the turbo or the more modern models generally?
The new compressor was $1500, plus there was a TX valve, new belt $100, alternator belt which was damaged when the other broke, various seals, cleaning the sytem and regassing (not much really) and over $600 labour. I did numerous independent quotes which came to about $400 less overall but none gave the 2 years warranty that Subaru did. I paid top money but got an OEM replacement and I was happy enough to go with that.

BTW The aircon on our 15 year old Camry with 336,000km still works like new without even needing a regassing. So some of the talk about Toyota reliability is true.

Hey guys with XT's is it common for the leather to go funny on the drivers seat about half way down on the base of the seat, most of the pic's of the cars I have seen have the same mark on the drivers seat on the right side of the seat. Do any of you guys have this?

I don't have it because I put seat covers on. Why do I put seat covers on leather seats?
so my arse doesn't fry in the Perth summer

Gidday OO

:rotfl: we have that problem in winter, in summer even sheepskin burns

You're supposed to have the fleecy side facing outwards ... :poke: :rotfl:

Mate, I once got about a third degree burn from a metal seat belt buckle when my car was parked in the sun at Qld Uni all day. Temperature in the car was well over 140°F (the maximum the thermometer went to ... ).

Hey OO

Thanks. It has healed up OK ...

It happened about 45 year ago ... :iconwink:
