Looking around a bit, trying to read, it can take a lot of reading to get a definitive answer on which sizes will fit with which car & year... So maybe a thread condensing all we know could be worth it?

I'm thinking getting that classified by model, then generation, then rim size, then each tire, noting if they do fit but with a modification.etc. I'll go thru the first page of the section and add those that seem clear, but feel free to let me know if I screw something up, or if you know one I missed!

That's a start from reading the first page. Your help is welcomed. I started reading that thread: https://offroadsubarus.com/showthread.php?t=1817 however it's not always clear which car they're on. I'll keep going thru it. Any help is welcomed. Cheers!

I like the idea, I'm doing a similar thread with lift kits, just slowly working on it when I have time :iconwink:

Do you mind if us mods/admins add too it? I could add abit as to some of the things. The Legacy/Liberty doesn't need to be there and same with the Impreza. The Lib/Leg is the same as the Outback and the Impreza is the same with the Forester... Remember too that in the US the different generations were bought out a year after Aus and Europe.

Dom't forget the L-Series(Leone) and Brumby(Brat) they are usedmore offroad than any newer Subie...

I think its a good idea.

I'll post mine up when I get a chance with pics. Mine needed a bit of modification to get them to fit.

Also please note; us Aussie's refer to the original Outback as a "Gen2" as it was on the Gen2 Legacy/Liberty platform. Whereas the yanks refered to it as a Gen1 hence the Outback designation has always varied between regions.

@taza: I did that as a starting point. And I actually got the idea from your lift kit thread :)

Sure, mods & admins are free to edit as they see fit! :)

Just test-fitted some half worn 215/70 16's on my SF (w/ SF shocks). One side barely fit, the other side barely didn't fit

I don't need to fit these particular wheels but just for giggles what is this spring perch mod that keeps getting mentioned?

^ use SG struts is one way. the spring perch gives more clearance.

*edited* ... 65's not 70's..;)

been reading a lot of info in here.. its great!
so.. I have an SG (2003) and in need of some new boots and is planning to source some 215/65/16's (unsure of which brand yet)..... Hopefully no rubbing will be evident. ;)

235/60R17, 4th Gen Outback

I had Cooper Discoverer AT3s mounted today on my 2013 Outback. They are pretty snug in the rear compared to the original 225/60R17 tires.

I'm sure they'll rub some when I get wild off road, but the stock tires already rubbed some when I did donuts.

The attached pictures show the rear wheel well clearance, the front wheel well clearance for the strut, and a profile shot. The wheels are new too: Drag DR-38.
