Gidday Folks

Guess I should start a journal. Seems a goodly system of keeping this stuff organised ... :poke: .

Anyway, I have fitted the OEM roof bars and Rola basket to Roo2 in the last couple of days.

Took it for a spin into town today on the Nepean Highway.

From about 70 km/h, it started to purr.

By about 80 km/h, the purr had become a more of a roar ... :( :(.

This will drive me NUTS, in short order ... Fortunately, it is my intention to fit the basket to the lid on my rebuilt trailer, where it should be out of the wind, and the noise should be well behind me ....

Will keep you posted about all this ... :iconwink: ;) :raspberry:

Well, Roo2 turned in 8.95L/100 Kms on the trip to Camperdown for a funeral yesterday. About 55-60 kms out of 470 kms total on urban/suburban roads.

It seems that the very vigorous crosswind took its toll on the economy both ways :(. Other conditions were two adults, auxiliary battery, 10L steel fuel tank, 10L drinking water and using cruise control almost all the time sitting on 101-102 km/h. Tyre pressures 35 psi all round.

I notice that others have also noticed this sort of increase when crossing the Nullarbor with the wind one way and against them the other way.

I've told SWMBO that she needs to lose weight ... Actually, I wouldn't dare, and she doesn't need to anyway :rotfl:. Just seemed like a good excuse ... :lildevil:.

Otherwise very pleased with how the car handled the filthy conditions - rain as well as wind.
