Taza's $300 L-Series

I need to continue and finish the journal for my Forester but I will start one for this anyway.

While the Foz is being repared (new gearbox, engine work, subaxtreme bullbar fitment and finish off the supercharger) I bought a cheap L-Series from gumtree.
Cost $300 and its a 91 L-series Sportswagon, 230,000km on the clock, smooth gearbox, engine runs really well but dies on idle and doesn't blow any smoke at all! The body is in great condition for a car thats 21years old. A few dents but can all be popped out.
No rust at all, and barely any on the exhaust.

Needs a new front CV, has a small oil leak (not going to fix it), 3 bald tyres, engine dies on idle, temp guage doesn't work and no stereo or immobilser..

Just gotta do a few things to get it over the pits and she should be running and road licenced for about $500!!!

Overtaking!! Wasn't too much of an issue but just make sure you have a long straight to be safe

Opps... this is what happens to the two front tyres when the wheel alignment isn't done after major suspension work then driving 6000km..
Don't do it!
What a way to wreck new tyres!!
Made the car very very skitterish on the road, especially in the wet.
Rotated the tyres to the back and got a wheel alignment done so it's all sorted now

Well had one bloke come and see the car today. He had a look and drive of it, seemed a little interested but I'm not sure.

Got another guy coming this arvo to look at it too...

Had 100 views on the advert in less than 48hours!

Well this morning the auto choke got stuck so now its revving its ring off even when not cold. The roblem is I don't know where the choke is except that it is around the throttle cable area. Ive looked around, sprayed WD-40 everywhere but its still stuck. If only I knew exactly what needs loosening....
Needa get it done bwfpre someone else comes and views it today!

Thanks guys! Still no takers. I really just want it gone now I have to say. I will miss it but i really just ant to fix my Forester.

Looks like she will be getting an ej25, front bar and snorkel this year!

Prob a bit late, but the auto choke will need to be tampered with via the air cleaner top removed.

Remove the top lid, get a screw driver and tap the flap that closes one of the venturies (schpelling?!) - I hope you'll know what I mean. Use the screwdriver to push on the flap gently, if it closes push on the other side so that it's open then "blip" the throttle to settle the idle back down to where it should be.

That should do the trick!
