:):). Well, i'm underway at last.:) Odometer reading 110,500klms.
I left the Gold Coast on Wed morning and am at my mates place in South West Rocks. I'm staying for a week or thereabouts and then off to Laurieton to catch up with some friends and do some fishing. The weather here at The rocks is fairly ordinary and it has been raining for 2 days so i have not put the boat in yet. The Maclay River is fairly dirty at the moment as were most rivers on the way down.
The trip down was good except for the roadworks that never end and seem to take forever to complete. I reckon i will be long under the ground before they finish the bloody highway. Pathetic really.
The car and the boat seem a good match and i used about 10% extra juice towing. Not bad really.
The new tyres i got fitted to the trailer are a Bridgestone light truck tyre and are a bit bigger diameter and have just hit the top of the mud guard but i will try and adjust that as soon as the weather clears.
I guess i will modify/adapt quite a few things as the trip goes on.
I've tried to keep things to a minimum but it's possible i still have too much 'stuff' and will sort it out bit by bit.
I have some photos and will post as the trip goes on once i work out what i have to do re Photobucket or whatever it is called.
I have not got a good photo of my 'rig' yet but will do it soon.
 
Ok. I've just joined Photobucket and uploaded somes pics to a private album. Is this what i have to do?? How do i then post them?? Any other way of doing it. Whats with the ORS album?
 
How to post photos from photo bucket.

Silver, great to hear you are finally on the road.
Here is how to link to a pic on photobucket:
1/. Hover your cursor over the photo and a list of link options will be displayed under the heading 'share';
2/. move the cursor to the code to the right of the heading IMG code;
3/. Click on the code and you will see the word 'copied' displayed, before it reverts to the code again;
4/. Go to the post in ORS where you want to paste the photo, hold down the 'control' button and press 'v'.
The photo will now appear in the post when you complete editing it, or press 'post reply' if it is a new post.:)

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your rig!
 
I usually hover the cursor over the pic in photobucket and when the 3 boxes drop down I click on the bottom one, once it says copied go to the forum and right click the mouse where you want the pic same as you would paste anything and a line with the details will come up, once you post the reply it'll appear.

Funny...i'm not getting notifications of posts to this thread. What do i do??

I have hoping someone would post. It's now 7 minutes since your post and no email has turned up. Come to think of it i have no notifications from any of my subscribed threads. It does say i am subscribed to this thread. Any ideas??
Yeah the unit was really quite good and nighttime was pretty spectacular but still doesn't beat the Pilbara on a good moonlit night:lol:

When you subscribe to a thread, there is a drop down box which has 4x choices to choose from.
1: No notification.
2: Instant notification.
3: Daily updates.
4: Weekly updates.

Did you choose option 2 ?? Maybe thats the reason ??

Glad you got the photo thing figured out, the first round of pics look great.

You might have a look in your user settings as well;
In the User CP (control panel), in the far left of the blue tool bar, scroll down to 'settings and options', click on 'edit options', scroll down to 'messaging and notifications', look in the 'default thread subscription mode' box and make sure the 'instant e-mail notification' is showing.
 
Sounds like your going to have an awesome time! :biggrin: You know this means your going to have to stop all the way around Australia and visit all your Subaru mates :raspberry:

I've gone through and done the above things. All seemed ok except the boxes were not ticked for instant notifications but the rest was ok. It did have a tick saying i was subscribed to this thread and i have not done anything different to what i usually do. A bit weird.
Funny with the pics also. Yesterday i thought i posted the 3 pics the first time but only 2 showed up and that is way i re-posted the 3rd pic and now it is there twice. Oh well. I'll leave a line between them and have a couple more to post tomorrow from South West Rocks.

Fishing at South West Rocks behind the northern breakwall. Fantastic day but no fish of note. Forgot to add that South West Rocks is in NSW and where The Maclay River meets the ocean. Great spot but has become fairly popular and so the fishing has gone downhill over the years.

Ahh that would be due to me :)
I noticed that the ] was missing from the link in the 1st pic & fixed it, so that would explain why that pic can now be seen :iconwink:

Just had a look at your notification settings & they look right.
I've reset them to instant again just in case.

Just have a look at your thread every time you log on, email notifications can be an absolute pain in the arse, someone writes "nice pic" and you get all excited and open it to nothing, as long as you keep it updated you won't miss anything.
