PICTURE POST: your favorite off-road shot!

Superu_legacy,Good stuff there. I'm thinking you should contribute some footage to FozzyMatts video project. If you don't have access to a HD camera, we could surely help somehow.
Thanks for postin'!

sweet!!! if it was not so damn hot there I would love to take my subi out there

COPY THAT x a million!!!!

It'll be MUCH better in early sept for the rally cross (Sept 7-8) and I'm pretty sure there aren't many better places on the planet than Moab in October!

tell me more!

I did an mpeg4 vid conversion for quicker uploading, but here are some of the regular HD versions.

they should be a little better.

I'm stitching together clips to make a good vid of that run on the first 1.26 miles of hell's revenge in Moab.

^^^ That's better.

Here's FozzyMatts thread. and more info.

I'll check out the links (& thanks), until then here are some more clips. . . :iconwink:

here's the raw video, roof-top mount, LOW quality

Here are HD clips from other camera

It turns out an end link was shot, making all that clunking. After FSB disconnect it sounds a LOT better, so I'll need to go out and see how far on this trail I can legitimately get. . . . . someday :discomonkey:

waitasecond . . . isn't Australia like 90% red-sand desert? All that sand came from rocks somewhere, no?
:rotfl:

Lol :iconwink:

It sure did...about 4 billion years ago lol. OZ is dotted with 1000s of volcanoes...all worn down to a stub. We have mountains, some used to be higher than Everest, now the tallest is Mt.Kosciuszko with a staggering height of 2228m! :rotfl:

We do have some monoliths like that big boulder you drove over (awesome btw). Uluru (Ayers Rock) is the biggest monolith in the world if you dont count the Grampians, which some geologists consider is also a monolith sitting on top of a super-volcano. But we cant even walk over Uluru any more. There are some small granite outcrops around like this one:

but nothing that compares to the bouldering paradise you have in Moab :lildevil:

Great pic alright :raz:

I'm guessing you were leading the way because the 2x real 4x4 behind you were too scared to go first :poke:

That^^ especially since I just noticed there's no snorkel.

To be honest, I don't think I'd have the balls to do it with my Foz in its current configuration! Either way, that's awesome!

Good googly moogly.:)

My thoughts exactly :rotfl:

Typical lol. Bet they were discussing whos gonna tow it out till it made it & their jaws dropped lol :rotfl:

Although it looks like another car with wide tyres had recently been across gauging from the tyre marks on the near bank,

Is that a tarp across the front?

^^^ And did it make it home under its own power?

Of course it did! That was just one of many crossings on the cape. From here we continued all the way to the tip then 3000 odd kms back to Brisbane. Don't underestimate what a well prepared suby can do.

As you guys noticed I don't have a snorkel, but i do have a custom fitted blind for the front end and extended diff and gearbox breathers. I cut the blind up out of a silver tarp and had an upholsterer sew it up for me. it hooks under the bull bar and has straps back to the mirrors. Basically the whole front end is sealed up giving just enough of an air pocket to do these sort of crossings. The only downside is you tend to float..

This photo doesn't show the worst of this particular crossing. There was a step just before the exit that saw water splashing up the windscreen and the car starting to float. That got the heart racing
