PICTURE POST: your favorite off-road shot!

Looks to be clear headlights VS the orange corner USDM as well. I see a couple AUDM conversions coming, lol.

Cobaw SF, this time last year

There are some great photos going on in this thread. After going through a few of my own I was wondering if this one counts :rotfl:

... Offroad... get it?? :poke:

I now wish that I put the front end back on with the head light so it looks a little more complete than it is in this pic.

Cheers

There seems to be a shortage of S3s (excepting dxd above) so here's a couple. Not exactly extreme off road but I like the pics.

I haven't had a lot of off-road opportunities. A couple of months after I bought my Outback, I went to Colorado and Utah.

Here's one from Colorado, when I was trying to get to Paradise Divide and Schofield Pass..

And one from Utah.. I'm pretty sure this was after Shafer Switchbacks and Pucker Pass, somewhere along the Potash Road..

How did those ramps do in terms of help? I was about to buy a set but thought I would ask a user first :)

Yep, taza. Like Jamie, I would love to hear how those MAXTRAX ramps/sand ladders worked out for you. Are they worth it?

I've been looking at Maxtrax for a while. I haven't been able to find used metal ramps around here. And the price for the new Maxtrax is comparable to the price of metal ramps. Plus that bright orange color is just so cool...

^ they work bloody brilliant guys. I will actually make a thread about it today or tomorrow and give my full overview of them then that might be able to help a few people :D

90-95% of the time they will get you out. When you are completely bottomed out through (body sitting in mud, sand or snow then they don't work as there is no pressure or weight on the cars wheels to push on them to get grip and pull you out.

Before them I used wooden Jarrah planks with some indents grinded into them. They did work but you got heaps of wheel spin. The Maxtrax work much better. I also tried carpet and strips of rubber with little to no success as they would just scrunch up. I think with tin or metal you would just get wheels spin and no traction.

I have a few more vids of post of them being used too.

Gee you love using those MaxTrax Taza lol. I reckon you deliberately get stuck haha :rotfl:

Yeah great shots DG, looks like you had fun! :monkeydance:

Nope although it does bring some adventure to the trips :raspberry:

I know that by having them I can risk going through the boggy stuff and am still able to get out. They are looking a little worn now though with 15-20 recoveries done on them.

Both Davidov's Outback and the L bogged at the same time. I got stuck due to lack of clearance then he tried snatching me out causing himself to bog down :raspberry:
The Maxtrax didn't work for the L-series at it was on its belly but did for the Outback. He the aired down to 10psi and I aired down to what looked like 0PSI in the L

Davo airing down more.

Davo getting out and now getting ready to tow the L-series out.

Snatching it out. I am starting to feel that more lift is in need for the L-series!!!! :lildevil:

Thanks for the info and pictures on the Maxtrax, taza.

And DG, that bright blue sky with the almost-white sand flying through it... priceless!
