Yep, having another look at the video footage Mitch took I reckon some really nice and low tyre pressures would have made a good bit of difference. I must admit I actually let my tyres down a bit more than usual on the front (about 22psi) and the rears had 24psi. Considering the weight and construction of tyres I reckon about 16 or so psi on Kevin's Triton (same tyres as mine) may have got it all the way up.
Joel, there's not one Subie that's made it up on it's own yet so I'm sure you're not going to let the challenge deter you. Mr Turbo's keen as mustard to have another go. The only thing to do is have another crack at it when I reccie the other trip nearby.
Any news on being able to get the auto box to hold 1st low Kevin? The thought of it changing up to 2nd on it's own sounds really dangerous if it was a particularly steep hill like there are plenty of in the Vic High Country. Grant said he'd just slow it down with the brakes some more to stop it changing up. What's the go?
