I think you mean it depends on how many of the big 4wd's we see stranded up there, stuck in the mud, & need the help of a Subaru to pull them out & recover them. :evil: :evil: :lildevil: :lildevil: :lol: :lol:

I won't be able to do this trip otherwise I'll have been away every weekend in Sept and I'll need some breathing space before going away on the long weekend.
 
well guys if it's late september and it's a sunday count me in.
I need to try out my new engine to see how it goes.
 
ok its getting close and i need to lock in a date so i can plan not to work that weekend. i would be looking at the 20th and 21st or the 27th and 28th weekends. what suits everyone else? also those coming please post if camping or just a day trip (which day?) Cheyne R did you plan on camping or just a day trip?

20/21st is probably better, but either is ok
 
Either of those, does anyone want to take the reins and run this, with my work at the moment things can change pretty quick for me.

i dont mind if you are unsure. i'll have to do some research of the area (tracks, campgrounds etc) do you have tracks or waypoints of your last visit? or did you follow a books info? does anyone have logged tracks from last time? i have way points from the "treks close to sydney" book which we can follow but there usually preety tame but i dont mind either way.

Rally what did you plan to do regarding driving? you can come with me if you like? just let me know because i'll ask my mate other wise:)

Eden, would love to come with you seeing as DN is Sunday only. I can bring my car to the camping spot and then jump in with you for the offroad stuff if that works out ok. That way I can bring all the stuff I need (such as the cooking gear!)
 
Sounds good Eden.

I didn't have a GPS with me, I drove the watagans forest road and did a little bit of exploring around the place. I do have a waypoint I'd like to find on Slippery Rock Road (need to go over my maps and work out how to get there. I have a waypoint for what is probably the biggest Blackbutt in NSW.
 
I thought Oprah had the biggest Blackbutt!
 
sorry to everyone that i haven't been following this up, but i've been bust'n my balls trying to meet this bullsh1t deadline for work. there's no way i will be able to do anything this weekend so all those wanting to go this weekend will have to organize it between yourselves. if you can hang on 2 to 3 weeks i can definatly organize somthing then, and it will be daylight saving then so we'll have more light to enjoy.sorry again for letting everyone down

I'm happy to hold out for a couple of weeks or so, especially with daylight saving being just around the corner.

Sounds good.
Not sure if I can make sat, but depending on where you camp I could meet up Sat night. With daylight savings it will probably only be dark when I arrive (not very dark)
