Front recovery points for an SG forester

Hi all

Very new member and first post/question.

I have a 2010 SH with 5spd dual range, Subaxtreme sumpguard, Geolander AT's etc. Subaxtreme currently list the recovery points for the SH on their website. Thinking of purchasing them as I'm about to very cautiously start some moderate level off roading. Anyone fitted them, know anything about how complex they are to fit (I know the sumpguard has to come off) etc??

Appreciate any advice, suggestions

Cheers

Sounds like a very nicely kitted out car.

The SH comes with a front/rear recovery bolt of substantial strength. It lives in the spare wheel well packing. The subframes are almost certainly designed for it to be used ...

And a warm :welcome: to the forum, Mark.

Thanks for this. I wondered about that bolt. I suppose that two recovery points like the Subaxtreme ones would spread the load a little better? I'll wait and see what I actually need I guess once I've got a bit more experience under my belt. Doing a day trip as a visitor with the Subaru 4WD Club off Victoria in a few weeks. All my adventures thus far have been on my own so will be good to see what other Forester owners have.

Yes, it is recommended to spread the load for monocoque body shells especially for off-road recovery ;)

The subaXtreme ones are very good they are load rated and have a tube between them to stop the chassis rails from collapsing would highly recommend them
