I accidently found this on my gps log , whilst being quite impressive it wasnt me driving ive never been over 150mph so it has to be some one who ive left the car with it could be one of two companies .
What does the panel think i should do?
Tracked/raced? It's not easy to find such straightaways/back-straights where you can do 217mph on a Forester which has a ~160mph top speed. It may have been a proving ground but still, wind resistance won't allow it. Haha.
I stay on the speed limit all the time when on public roads but the GPS log on my old Garmin recorded 159 kph and it was one event that I can still remember. I was on my way to Auckland and on the very steep State Highway 5, from Hawke's Bay to Taupo, I was just cruising with my Toyota Cresta JZX90 when I got tailed by a brand new Ford Focus. I would give him space to overtake but he wouldn't and just stayed around 0.2 seconds behind my vehicle. It was truly bothersome and irritating! Even on passing lanes, he would just stay behind me and steer left and right as if he wanted to race me. I even slowed down to 60 kph on passing lanes just to get him to leave me alone! Then on the downhill just before Taupo, I decided that the best way to get rid of him due to his behaviour is to leave him behind. I overtake using the legal 110kph but I always use a lead speed as it is the proper overtaking method. I decided to use 160kph as a lead speed and I overtook 10 tailgating cars on a good straightaway. Upon getting back to the left lane, a police interceptor appeared after a crest. My timing was just right and I was able to cruise back to Auckland and never encountered the bully Focus again. I wouldn't race on the road as I raced on the track and on the dirt. I keep my adrenaline intact as, if ever I will race/rally again, I will just use my reserved energy for such.
