I traveled home via a mainly single lane road yesterday, Bells Line of Rd for those who know it, and got caught up for some time in a group of 6 cars where the lead vehicle would increase speed by at least 20 klm/hr every time we encountered an overtaking lane and would then drop below the speed limit after the overtaking lane - as there are very few overtaking opportunities on that road what an inconsiderate PIA! I finally got past in the slow vehicle lane when we arrived at an unsigned overtaking area that I knew well and was prepared to have a go immediately.

That one really gets up my left nostril too, Kevin. Another is the badly adjusted headlights and high beam, either front or rear approach. I can still see like a cat at night, and find these blinding. Even had one guy in a Landcruiser with his light bar on coming towards me in West Gippsland. He didn't appear to notice, even when I flashed him with mine. Probably drunk, or something.

It gets up my nostrils, too.. but sometimes it turns out its not deliberate - just ignorance or stupidity.

Some drivers just feel the need to go slow on a single-lane road, then speed up when it widens. They have so little common sense or empathy for other drivers that they don't understand what they're doing.

Of course, if its a Holden or Falcon ute, I'll immediately assume otherwise ;)

The lack of consideration is everywhere - and poops me. Failure to indicate early (or at all), randomly moving across lanes, not keeping left on a freeway... etc.

Oh.. and leaving a campsite full of garbage!

I had one similar to that on Steve Irwin Way on my way home from golf today Kevin.
Very limited overtaking opportunities on that road and I was 3rd in line with a truck up my clacker, the lead car decided it was either fun or she was a total a-hole, and alternated her speed between 60 & 80 every couple hundred metres.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I usually find it's a member of the "good to have the power when you need it" set - high powered car driven like a country parson, until the passing lane or straight stretch appears ...

I cant help thinking you would have been better off in my car for your overtake @Kevin .

@Kevin, I can relate to you. The pickup trucks here would go up to 140 kph on straights and hold up traffic when cornering. They have a false sense of speed as modern-day pickup trucks are still slow, except for American ones but they won't usually be any faster in corners. I see this behaviour primarily from city people.

Or people that don't give a flying fig about other road users .

When I passed my test in1989 my driving instructor told me "the trick of good driving is not to inconvenience other drivers"

This. this is my number one. It's all encompassing.
Particularly noticeable where I am, it's a heady mix of born and bred locals, relocated 'big city' dwellers, farmers from around the region and a heap of tourists. Makes for interesting driving, the full gamut from exceptionally timid tourists, through exceptionally ignorant locals to multi-millionaire hoons in a city that barely scrapes 100,000 inhabitants.

Did you lose 50% in the floods Ben? ;)
The 2016 Census says Townsville had a population of 229,031.

I'm not in Brownsville, Horrible place!
edit: Apparently there are 150,000 up here in Cairns now. Must be about time to move further north.
(Brownsville's not actually that bad, but terribly dry.)

I accidently found this on my gps log , whilst being quite impressive it wasnt me driving ive never been over 150mph so it has to be some one who ive left the car with it could be one of two companies .
What does the panel think i should do?

i think some driver just need to chill more and relax ... i mean cmon .. i hate people go too fast like its 90 limit sign .. im going like 96 and they like really! you doing slow donkey... we goo fast ... i mean its just 2 way road you cant go that fast ... but some dont care... and if someone going slow i never think of it any bad .. just think that he might have reason to do that and think before you act . ... just take him over , not hard is it ? im counting like hundred people that would loose its license while im driving as they do some crazy stuff there and if i could record it and get to police i would .. because i would want that other ppl would cacth me too if im driving wrong ...

WOW! That's 350 klm/hr; planes take off at that speed don't they? Can you take it up with the company owners?

Extract the Micheal

That's around A$30-35; very pricey! A man of your talents could probably make a replacement for much less ;-) My Koni knob is somewhat larger than that so hope I don't lose it. What shape is the adjustment stem?

Ha Kev ill take some pics of the pre-adjuster adjuster stem .

I'd be just as concerned that someone has had it more than 900ft underground!

Lockheed, these things are notoriously inaccurate if they can't find a satellite. I did some analysis of the actual data from one that had been driving along a highway with cuttings and some overhanging trees. It showed that the truck had been driving about 50m off the road for about 10-15 kms (impossible)! My analysis was sufficient to have the police case thrown out of court, as they were relying heavily on the GPS 'evidence'.
