Great RR Kevin.

What type of roof tent is that? How much does it weight?

Thanks.

Trooly excellent Kevin! I don't think there's anyone here who wouldn't love to do a trip like that. Sorry to here of your mechanical worries though. I'm wondering... with all that extra fuel, food, water, fridge, camping gear etc, whether that may be the reason the suspension suffered? How close to GVM were you?

I ask because I'm undergoing a bit of a revelation at the moment: I've adopted the ultralight backpacking philosophy and am starting to apply it to my car-camping as well. I'm figuring that the less weight I carry in the vehicle, the less wear and tear, less fuel use, and hopefully, less damage. It's really hard to cut back on a trip like that though, you're right about carrying enough fuel to get to the fuel stop past the one you plan to stop at. And, you have to carry plenty of water. Did you carry all that heavy stuff way down low?

I'd love to see your packing list for the trip. They always make for good reading.

Congrats again on such a wonderful trip mate!

How close to GVM were you?
