Rivian R1T / R1S perfect electric offroader?

There's no doubt it will be a capable vehicle. I like the vision but spending almost 3 billion USD before you get your revenue? Whoa, that's very modern/start-up ey.

The part where they show their vision of their vehicles, I like that. I don't like the part where they try to explain being free from fossil fuels because their perception is just wrong. I hope these companies stop saying that and start accepting the reality that even though you are not filling up your vehicle with petrol, it does not mean you are free from fossil fuels. You may be at a mesoscopic scale but in a regional or global scale you are not.

in other intwerview he said actually what you saying that they need to start making and selling cars quick. interesting when se was saying that they made those cars and batteries in such way that you can take out batteries from car and use them for your own needs like at home to make solar homes. he said when car like will go to scrapyard , batteries still will have a lot juice in them so they could be usedto make solar homes. thats great thing i think. like now they making some charity stuff with free solo climber Alex Honnold and helping some places where people dont have electricity to power them with solar and they will use rivian batteries for that .
They said there will be cheaper versions of cars, like maybe not 4 engines but 2 and smaller batteries.
their new factory that thye bought from mitsubishi with all workers that now will work for them

and they made some deals with ford i think to help them to make new EV cars on their skateboard platform, new Lincoln Electric SUV will be made on same platform. Amazon ordered lots platforms for their delivery trucks on same platform as well.
now everyone will start making E SUV's. Hummer showed grill of their new Electric Hummer. that will be in teresting to see

And here I was thinking that part of the problem with EVs is that their batteries wore out much sooner than the car. I guess in the case of housing, you wouldn't be drawing nearly as much as you would in a car.

yh i wondered why he talked like that car will go to scrap in like 10 years ... he said after car not used anymore you can use batteries . but i want to use my new car at least for 15 or more years. why not ? and in that time batteries will go forward in technology so much anyway so those from car become very oldschool i think .

Yes. We like cars that last. 10 years can be too short for vehicle ownership but I understand why they want to do that. Nowadays people upgrade cars almost every 3 to 4 years. They want people to think of cars as disposable devices just like our smartphones. Nothing is ever eco-friendly with that. Haha.
