My mother and father in-law were in town, and making a very rare appearance, my brother in-law. Kids will be kids, and parents will be parents and sooner or later an escape will be necessary. My bro-in-law is a Harley rider and if mom-in-law new this it would kill her, pop-in-law knows about, but does not acknowledge the bike. Bro-in-law wanted/needed to get away from the parental units for a while and visit the local Harley shop to get a T-shirt, so we grabbed my boy and in between the front door and my trusty YotaRu the highly exclusive and prestigious DORK was formed.

Ready to roll...

The first stop for any DORK event is caffeine, all participants must be properly caffeinated.

Although Dude Boy can fit on the Sportster his Fave was the V-Rod.

We decided to go to Subway for some good 'ol sandwiches, Uncle Dude convinced us that Hooters would be a much better option for a DORK event.

Remember, this is a 9yo Dude who thinks girls are yucky, she planted that on him with perfect timing, talk about a red face afterward. It was decided that all future juvenile DORK pledges go through this initiation before they can become members.

Uncle Dude and Dude Dad cruizin' on the Blue Ridge Parkway. To make this an official ORS post, we did take a two mile stretch of gravel road to get to the Parkway.

Uncle Dude had heard lots about the BRP as excellent motorbike riding, so I had to take him on a bit.

Wish you could see it better but this old Norton had a air cooling scoop for the drum brakes as well as some cool linkage.

All DORK events MUST end with a chill session in the garage. Note; the bottle of tequila in Dude Boys chair, where the heck did he get that.

After the chill session, DORK events MUST have a cook out with a ghetto set up pallet table or similar and...

NO gas grills, charcoal only.

Gotta' pay homage to the caffeine and BBQ gods.:ebiggrin:

That was my first visit to a Hooters, I've never really had a desire to go. The food was really good, the girls were very nice and didn't seem at all unhappy to be working there. Mom Dude was fine with the fact that we took her little boy there, but also gave him a little talk about not objectifying women when we got home.

We actually didn't use any of the Baby Rays after the DORK outing :sad: , we just had burgers and dogs.

And I love BRP, will be out there again next month for an annual motorcycle gathering.

If your going to be anywhere near Asheville you better let me know, even if I can only meet you for 5mins it would be super sweet.

Is there a DORK hall of fame? That trip must surely be in with a grin!

Since DORK is so new, EVERY trip trip is in the hall of fame. In fact every DORK event will be so epic that they will all be in the hall of fame.

Dude boy definately made friends :ebiggrin:, they thought he was the cutest little boy. If he takes after Uncle Dude he will certainly try to have a Harley, or some sort of motorcycle, but Mom Dude might put a stop to that. That's why I don't ride anymore.

Yes, we at the head chapter of D.O.R.K. encourage the formation of other divisions. With the girls you'll have to figure out something clever with the acronym, and you might want to rethink the initiation a bit. Other than that all you need is a sense of adventure, a camera, and a bit of time to go out and have some FUN!!!:ebiggrin: Just don't forget to post your D.O.R.K. report.
