Lifting my DD Legacy wagon

Yes Outbacks are a factory lifted Liberty/Legacy. It's lifted about 1.5". You can also use SG Forester struts to lift it a little more & with better tyre to spring perch clearance

Do you mean the wheel arch liner? It protects the wiring loom from flying rocks & sticks. Lots of people remove them but I wouldn't suggest it lol

What if I plastered the crap out of the fender with truck bed liner? As for the spring question, that settles it. I am getting Outback springs. But PLEASE tell me the CV's will be ok. That is $400 in repairs if they fail.

I haven't done any thing but the spring/struts and bigger tyres. I have not had any issue due to the lift. I did blow my drivers side front cv but it had a really bad torn boot since I bought it in 2012. The lift probably helped kill it. I am about to part out a 98 wagon and put all the sub frame lift bits on it. I am also thinking about using Forester springs up front. The car sits abit higher in the rear and I really want it to be even.

Mine actually feels more like riding on the back of a bulldog, if that makes since. It handles way better now then it did stock sedan, at least to me. I've only had it offroad once so I can't really comment on that.

Is it an Outback ? Love to have the springs if so.

Also, to everyone in this thread, apologies for any annoying questions. I just want all the info I can get and want the project done right, the first time, with peace of mind.

Bed liner will help but won't be as good as a physical barrier.

I don't know if Outback springs are different to Legacy springs. The struts are taller...

Stock Sedan height(looks to have a bit of a saggy bum here):

98 Legacy Outback wagon springs/struts

Lifted on wagon spring/struts with 225/60/16

It has no other lift bits at all.

Appreciate the feedback.

@NachaLuva, I will figure something out. I might have my brother fabricate me some thin metal liners that will custom form to the wheel well.

@RabbidRabbit, looks good. It is about what I want to do. Only I will have 15 inch wheels with 70 sidewall

I am actually keeping the spring/struts off the 98 wagon for my Impreza. Thanks for the comment on my Legacy. It got totaled but I rebuilt it and it is back on the road.
