one thing I hate is when I bash a radiator and dent all those nice cooling fins. Once the fans and coolant is out (which you need for the pump replacement), the radiator is a couple of bolts - too easy.
I hate dropping the coolant. A choice piece of cardboard or mdf cut to shape and held in place over the exposed radiator fins with some tape does the trick of protecting those fins. Works a treat, saves time and is reusable for next time It can also double as a record board of dates and work done on the vehicle.
