A/T with H/T as spare?

I've noticed similar wear to p/s front on my past front-wheel drive cars as well but not RWD cars - all before roundabouts as well.

My wife wears our the front P/S on the 350Z with out any trouble

The wear on the front passenger tyre caused by roundabouts (for RH drive) is simply physics. If you have even driven a powerboat and turned quickly you will know what I mean.

Yeah she drives the 350Z like a power boat going into a turn and brakes at the last moment

D697 as a spare

Wow! Thanks for all the information guys!
So after reading through everything posted in this thread, I bit the bullet and ordered my tyres today.
5x Duelers in a 215/65r16

Also picked up a 12v air compressor to mount in the engine bay (heat shielding?) to reinflate the spare when need arises.

I'm about to purchase 4x Bridgestone D697's 215/65r16 for my 2003 XS. I wondered how you've found them so far?

I've also currently got a space saver for a spare - and wondered how you got on with fitting the D697 in as a spare tyre in the wheel well? Does it fit okay?
Would be interested to see a photo of how this fits :)

I run D697 215X65X16`s, 6 of, and deflate the spare, 6th tyre, to fit in the well on my 2002 MY03. I needed to cut the foam surround a tad to make the fit a bit easier.
I have covered about 20000kms so far with some obvious wear but not excessive. They are good and not all that noisy on bitumen, ok at low pressure on sand and seem very tough on rough stuff.
I rotate all 6 every 5000 kms to even out the wear.
