Lando's Offroad Sh build

Hey guys, names Erik Lando.

Long story short im 23 years old I live in Va for now soon to move to Iowa. Im engaged and I like car stuff.

Ive owned 4 cars before i bought my fozzy. 94 300zx, 92 300zx Twin Turbo, 98 M3, 06 Legacy GT Spec B.

Yes they were all sports cars, so what made me get a non turbo automatic 2011 forester? No my fiance is not pregnant....No Im not whipped she didnt make me buy it.

I bought it because i was sick of buying an impractical sports car that took all my money to insure and fill up at the gas station plus spend thousands of dollars just to loose it all when i got bored.

The Forester is non turboed so im not tempted to make it fast or loud. its auto so my road rage is not nearly as bad i just chill and drive and its newer so reliability isnt really an issue.

Now after one little excursion in a puddle of mud after a flash flood due to snow melt two days after i bought the forester I got hooked and though lets see what its like to not lower a vehicle. haha

So my goals are simple......I want more lift, bigger tires, and to continue to suprise all my friends with jeeps, Fjs, and Xterras.

Mods. 08/17/2014

Subtle Solutions 1" lift kit
Subtle Solutions 1/4" nose dive spacers
Subtle Solutions 3/8" saggy butt spacers
Amazon Rain Guards
Cooper Discoverer AT3s 225/70/16 (with a one inch lift and nothing to recenter the rear wheel this was tough to fit....had to trim plastic and cut metal and sand it down then paint it....to make them have half an inch of clearance)
1" wheel spacers in the rears.....the fronts will have the spacers in soon depending on the seller I bought them from

Thats it for now

Future mods.

15mm hubcentric bolt on spacers
Sumo 2" lift kit
Some way to re center the rear wheel after the 2" lift kit. So far cant find someone that has produced anything for a 2" lift yet.....
Roof rack and basket.

Super future mods.

Offroad front and rear bumpers
Snorkle

Nice work so far - G'day & welcome aboard!

That looks really sharp....good job! Hope Iowa won't be a huge letdown after beautiful Virginia...but the letters do stand for I Owe the World an Apology....so be careful !

I have to say, great work. This is the first SH I've seen that I would actually own. I had no idea how good they look lifted! Also, congrats on fitting the tyres, they're a pretty decent size! Bit bigger than my 215/65r16s. I doubt they'd fit in my wheelarches full stop.

Also what have you done with your exhaust? Can't see it in the pictures...

The cost of living in Virginia vs the cost of living in iowa is worth it to me plus my fiancé and I both want to attend the University of Iowa anyway

I removed the exhaust due to them dragging on everything and getting dents from offroading. plus it gives it just a little tone and I think the rear looks better but that's just me.

Anyway thanks for the comments guys took a couple photos today without getting all muddy. I love getting muddy but every time I wash it I regret it. 1 hour at least after removing all four wheels to make sure I get everything. my front inch wheel spacers are being shipped to me tomorrow should look good with a widened stance up front as well.

Skid plate finally ordered from primitive motorsports

Im having trouble deciding if Im going to order the 2 inch lift kit or start looking at light bars next......

the only thing keeping me from doing the 2" to replace my 1" is the issue with centering the rear wheel. so far the only solution is a sub frame spacer really looking to just extend the trailing arm or the traditional spacer set up...

Looks great! Just out of interest, how much articulation do you get with the lift block? Do they limit the droop in the suspension?

Cheers.

I have to agree with some of the others above, that your SH looks SICK. Ive never really seen em with lift like that and nice big aggressive wheels. For the first time ever I kinda want one. Looks like a proper 4wd.

Went bedliner black on the wheels today. Looks tougher in my opinion.

Hey Lando,
Love the car mate... awesome height, tyres look awesome... nice aggressive stance. Question about the wheels and spacers... did the tyres fit without the hub centric spacers? Or were the tyres too wide to fit?

thanks guys. actually the tires fit fine without the spacers. I added the spacers to give it a more aggressive look. i actually wish i went with 1.5 inch spacers instead of just 1 inch spacers.....
