Strut options with raised Kings

Mine has got a pretty nice rake to it now. Basically I'm running raised Kings all round with the recently installed 1" spacers on the back.

Admittedly I was pretty nervous about doing the install myself. I didn't want to get stuck at any point so I followed another how-to which listed the compressors as a real help so I bought a set.

I had to swap out the bolts with my install. Wasn't too hard. The trick is to somehow support the strut so the bashing doesn't damage the shock.

All up I'm really happy with it. Handling isn't any different in normal day-to-day usage. If pushed through tight corners or roundabouts, I can feel there is a minor change in geometry (funny that). It's probably the camber. I'd be interested to hear more about how rear castor is affected when lifting....and whether it can be dialled back into spec.....anyone?

Rear castor is changed, unless you have put in a spacer under the front of the rear trailing arm where it touches the body, if the rear wheel looks like it is pulled forward in the wheel arch then the castor is certainly off from what the factory had intended as the foz came off the shop floor with the rear wheel centred in the arch. Sumo parts sell a suitable block for under the front of the rear trailing arm.
Note that the camber is also yanked around when putting in the raised rings and strut top block,

Ok, so 1" trailing arm spacers are needed. So far there has only been 1 documented failure of trailing arm spacers so they can't be that bad. I probably won't push them too hard anyway.

Ok chaps, quick update. Went off on a 4 day camping trip. Only about 400kms round trip, but enough to get some impression of my new setup.
In short, I'm loving it. I was heavily laden with camping gear in the luggage space and on the full length roof rack. Three kids in the back and barely lost any height on the rear. Some of the roads we travelled were rough and the handling was great. Very happy with the result so far
