Forry goes wild, live from Germany

A half year ago i was buying a 99er Forester in a very goog condition only a little bit rust in left wheelhousing.

The last few days i cut off the Rust to rebuilt the Wheelhousing in the next week.

I copy with Waterjet the Sumo lift kit but for rear 40mm and 35mm for the Front.

Aktually I am waiting for the Ironman 35mm liftsprings for Front and rear.

The original 15" Rims i rebuilt today, at the moment the Brunox Epoxy Rustpreserver is drying, and tomorrow they gos mattblack.

Nice looking Forester you have there, mate.

You are right to vigorously attack any rust. The mechanicals can (almost) always be repaired; if rust gains a significant foothold, it can be impossible to eradicate! Certainly for any sane amount of money :(.

All the best with your modifications and restoration :).

FWIW, I have used about 3 cans of cold galvanising paint on my trailer restoration/rebuild. It's good stuff!

Blackbox MH370 ?

Nice start !

Are there any other "offroadsubarus" in Germany ?

Offroad Subaru are rare the most prefare German Cars or bigger one.
Foresters are in Germany very expensiv for example, a old Forry with rd.250tkm a lot of rust and no Tüv you will payed a minimum of 2500€ thats round 3200$ for my one with 170tkm ived payed 500€ rd. 750$.
Japanese Spareparts are also very expensiv, its the same like in the Nederlands.

In Germany are a lot of Forums about Subaru and other Offroadcars, the reason i choose this one is why i think it is a good chance to improve my english.

Looks good. Do you have any side on before & after photos? We like them lol.

PS: why does "Ironman springs" have "the Hulk" on the box?

Aktually i preparate the Liftblocks when the Blocks ready i will change the Springs, Strutes, Tires and install the Liftblocks.

The height of the Blocks in my first post was incorrect.

Front +45mm / Rear +50mm

Photos i will make.

PS: why does "Ironman springs" have "the Hulk" on the box?

He's behind the Hulk

Today the Guy from the Colorshop brought me the first Rim to check the Color. Nice!

Now the pipes have the right length and everything is prepared as far as i can weld it later.

Unfortunately, it's not as fast as I'd like, but at least it is progressing.

Today I picked up 2 of 4 rims including the tires, on Wednesday I'm going to mount the Liftkit and the new Springs.

Then I will make before after pictures of the lift.

Very nice !

This is the maximum lift you can have without a body lift…any higher and you would have front CV issues.

Where are your nice black wheels ?

I will install the wheels after painting, the Wheelhousing i was welding must be painted.

This is a lift of 8 cm complete, its still enough for me.

The Problem is i need some longer Connectors for the Rearstabilisator.

Second Problem is the Chamber in the Back, its to negativ when i was welding the Lift Blocks i fitted them Assymetric but it isn't enough, i still hope with 6cm Trailingamspacers i can place the Wheel in the Middle and correct the Chamber.

In the Front is

If you invert the lateral rear arms, you will have the connectors on the top instead of underneath, never tried it because I upgraded with an SG rear chassis (3cm wider) but it should work !

But you use Trailingarmspcacers and how height your Spacers?

Yes, 1' trailing arm spacers, but no top strut spacers because I have some coil overs.
