Maxtrax.....????

^ I am strongly considering - as others have said, just not sure where to carry them. Actually wish I had a pair to try this weekend (going to Stockton)

actually, my roof top sits on top of my roof basket, so i spose i can put them in the basket. that's where my skis go, they slide in under the tent

X Trax on $69.99 @ Anaconda til 9.00pm Tues 29/09

(Apparently the sale doesn't include W.A. and Tas , however members in other states might be interested.)

Regular price at Anaconda $79.99...(cheaper than those quoted above already):) as part of the '20% off everything' sale I just picked up 2 for $127.98.

Thats $63.99 each!

Cameron Corner to Wilpena Pound here we come! :poke:

I was looking at both the MaxTrax and Bushranger roll-up X-trax when my bull bar was being fitted. While the X-trax were considerably cheaper, and easier to store in the Forester, they seemed like they weighed about 10-15 kg each. So much more than the max trax, they would have been lucky to weigh a kilo I reckon. I walked out with neither. Just my 2c.

Joel

I think it also depends what you want from your days: if you like the idea of spending a couple of hours burying your spare tyre to use as a sand anchor, working up a huge sweat using the winch, then diggin up the tyre again and packing it all away, then more power to you! If you like to spend your days actually driving, these things will get you out in a matter of minutes with minimal exertion.

For me, they sound like a great safety feature as I can't operate a hand winch. I'll certainly be getting some when I can afford them:biggrin:

Bury the spare?

Not gonna buy one.
Gonna make one.

As a last resort, you could always take the car mats out from under you feet & use them. :iconwink:
Granted that they will be F.U.B.A.R once you have finished, but as least you won't be stuck. :)

Just my 2c worth.

Regards
Mr Turbo

I have seen them both on the sand and in mud and am not that impressed for the dollars
I would rather use a shovel it's $280 cheaper

That's my 2c

Shovel may be OK in sand, but less so in mud. Bushranger trax were a useful addition to the post hole shovel in the Merty Merty mud in late November! :monkeydance:
