We may pay less for rego, but we pay through the nose for fuel. There is no price cycle, it is always 'up'.

Today's fuel prices 159.9 for Ulp, and 98.9 for LPG.

It's not so bad here, rego's about 630, fuel has a price cycle if its 1.55 its low.

interesting point, luckily I fill up at Healesville and despite being further from Lilydale than say Seville we get the benefit of petrol discounting. I filled up today at $1.48 a litre, in the next couple of days it will sky rocket to $1.59 and then start to come down again.

At least we don't sit in peak hour traffic and get good economy doing open road running.
IDW sounds like your paying a bit too much even though you have a discount cycle.
 
In beautiful down town Cheltenham, we pay somewhere between $1.34 and $1.57 for 91 RON. We usually have a Woolworths (Safeway) shopper docket, so knock 4c off that.

Last time I filled the SH and 40L of jerry cans, the shopper docket gave a 20c/L discount ... Made it almost reasonable!

A friend has just got back from Dubai, Emirates and Saudi Arabia week before last. In Dubai, the price is 50c/L for 98 RON. In the other two, it's 14c/L - that's not a typo: fourteen cents a litre for 98 RON.
 
(going off topic i know) I know i pay to much, but sometimes i really can't be bothered jumping on the freeway to sunbury to fill up it's a 42km round trip. If im heading into town I'll fill up on plenty rd.

The Gisborne servo is the worst here, as its 24 hours, when the other servo's in the area close his price go's up 10-15cents
