Ridge Ryder 4WD Recovery Kit

It becomes very obvious whether some of these things will work or not when you pick up the operating handle. The Magnum one is about 5 feet long (extended), weighs about 5+ kgs, and the attachment at the winch end has a shearable pin that's user replaceable.

It's rated good for a dead lift (straight up ... ) of about 1,600 kgs ... Basically winch Roo2 up a vertical cliff! Rolling load rating is 2,400 kgs.

If it feels like crap, it almost certainly is, IMNSHO.

Yeah those winches are complete crap no matter what brand. They work ok for large loads if you are very very careful at pulling the handle directly in line with the winch but as soon as you apply a slight sideways pressure on the handle whilst pulling back on it hard the handle twists and bends and the ratcheting mechanism stops working. I have destroyed more than one in this way on a Subie.
