Subaru & LPG Conversion

A LPG injection set like I have cost in Holland +/- 2000 euro's =+/-2800 Aus$

curious what it will cost on the otherside of the globe

I have an excellent LPG guy near me whos worked on 2 Falcons for me & he quoted ~$2500 for standard (mixer) & ~$3500 for injection. He only uses quality gear so may be a little more than budget places, but what I've found through harsh experience is saving $100-200 on installation can cost $100s down the road.

Plus here we get $1000 govt LPG rebate

What are the differences? Is this gas injection or mixer?

The apparent difference is that the JTG is for people that want to customise their cars after the installation, it is very flexible with mods, while the orbital isn't. Also according to a orbital customer rep, their systems have 6 pumps for the lpg vs JTG's 1 pump. Not sure if thats true or not.

i have booked in my subie for a LPG installation in a couple of weeks time, have been quoted for the liquid injected JTG system at $4500 before rebate (which will be $1000). I will take some pictures of the engine bay before and after the installation and let you know how everything goes. Fingers crossed it all turns out okay!

Also, talked to the guy that will be converting my car about the JTG overheat (causing inability to fill up), apparently it is mainly experiences by taxi's because they sit and idle for long periods of time, and because the LPG system circuits gas, it can over heat, this and they don't wait till the cylinder empties and always fill it up when it is 3/4 full or 1/2 full.

ive been running my fozzy for a year or so now, got around 150k miles on the clock and the only problem i had was that the coil pack got weak, a good second hand one and some new leads sorted that out tho :) lpg is 68p a litre while petrol is around £1.28 [ish] at the moment, this is my first daily lpg car, but my third in total [to jeep xj's] and tbh it wont be my last. the only complaint i have is tha tank range, but as most people say on here its a toss up between space and practicality on tank size. i have seen a range rover have a lpg tank ripped off its underside, so the only place i ever consider is inside, my current one sits in the spare wheel well.

Does the gas injection system work the same as the diesels in that the car still runs mainly on petrol with a percentage of gas injected into the inlet manifold or is the main fuel gas with different injectors, pump etc and ecu mapping to suit?
Is it just me or does anyone else remember when gas sytems were about $1000 cheaper [errr just before the subsidy came in].
regards

there's literally 1000s of dual fuel Falcons.

The Ford "Factory Fitted" LPG or Dual Fuel Falcons are what your want
there is SFA difference between petrol and LPG
Run the tyres at slightly over pressure keep the car clean and maintained
soft on the pedal open road efficiency awesome
round down aweful like everyone else

if only the did a decent 4wd

I saw 600km DTE on the Falcon once for 50L
then I floored it

Any way better test drive a Subaru - off road
