Hi all ... first post ... I'm about to fit a dual battery system to my 2012 Forester. The aux. AGM battery will be located on the floor behind the driver's seat. I've had a brief poke around and don't see any obvious way to get the cables through the firewall and under the carpet/trim to the aux. battery ... Any experiences suggestions?
Cheers

Welcome Greg!

Not sure about the MY12 but - most cars have a big rubber double layered "boot" for the main cable run into the cabin. On both my Foz and Triton I drilled a hole in the outer boot (be careful) and you can then push cables through or feed a wire snake through first, attach the cables and pull through from the inside. In the cabin of the Foz I removed the centre console and ran the cables along the centre tunnel and exited under the passenger seat. Another possibility is to remove the sill trim and run cables inside the sill.

Thanks for responding guys .... I've spent an hour poking around, removing glove box etc. and I'm non the wiser ... it's crazy in under there. I'm heading off now to buy some ramps ... thinking under the car may be worth a try.
Cheers

I'd also like some ideas of where to run cabling on the current foz, stilson those grommets are used for the master cylinder on aussie models.

If the OP has a RHD forester then they wil be of little use to him.
I wonder where the master cylinder is on the LHD.

hey mate, i found a gromet on the drivers side just behind the intercooler. i cut a small hole in this and was able to get driving lights wires and cb cable through no dramas. the wires come out in the cabin just above the clutch pedal.
