installing led strip lighting ?????

i need a newer model interior light to fix my problem. if everyone can see my switch its a mechanical switch not an electronic internal function switch.

if i can get a newer one that will allow me to solder my wires after the switch and work together with the dimmer function
 
im having a look at a new light fitting from an 05 forester tomorrow . if it is the similar size as the one ive glt now and the switch is a seperate non mechanical switch then i will be able to solder the wires kn after the switch and not on the full power before the switch . thwn i will be posting a full diagram with pictures on how to do this job fkr everyone
