2" Lift Block or Block and Raised Springs

Here is my new lift in the rear of the my SF foz, I previously had 2"(raised springs and 1" blocks) in but found it not enough for my needs.

Whoa that is huge - I like it

What have you done with abs and brake lines?

Have you dropped the driveline to compensate, or are getting away with it as is?

I think we will all be keen to see the details, and some pics of it off the black top.

Looks huge!

Thanks Kevin, I'm happy with it

thats huge taza!, what brand spacers did you use?
looks like you may need some wheel spacers so you fit some bigger tyres in there!

Thunder, I didn't buy them. Stilson made them with some minor help from me and some welding help from his mate. Over all I am happy, it has settled down now after driving it a hundred or two hundred km today.. I do have trailing arm spacers getting made up soon to centre the wheels back as they are currently too far forward!

Wow, that is a big lift
Looks fantastic taza :raz:

Thanks, it's settled down now and I have 85mm at the rear and 75mm at the front over stock :lildevil:

Thanks mate, the ABS and brake lines aren't an issue at all, there is still heaps of length in them :) No it is just strut/suspension lift, no body lift or dropping of the drivetrain, I will have to measure the distance under the sump. Somewhere around 300mm I would guess at the moment. The CV angles at the rear aren't an issue at all, the front there is a little anlge but only a little, much less than I was expecting so that's good

Yes I will get some pics on the weekend hopefully. My front bullbar should be arriving this week from QLD so hopefully if it does I can fit it aswell :lildevil:

Here's a few pics as the blocks progressed;

Plates shaped and lift spacers. Oh and some trailing arm spacers.

Bottom plates welded on and centres turned out. Welds don't look pretty but better than I could do, good penetration and solid.

Plates are cut out of 150x5 flat bar.
Front spacers are NB100 medium,
Rears are NB80.

Can you spot the mistake in the last pic?

Good stuff Taz, looks great ...mistake..... wrong plates on top of spacers in rear????
What about the off set? The spacer in the middle looks to be an inch and the others 2 inches. Regardless I'm anxious to see the entire pic of the lift.

You got it! My friend welded all four of the rear SF plates to the spacers leaving my four SG plates to weld on top. Luckily they are the same bolt pattern.

Alignment offsets appear to be spot on, neutral camber as the lift is so high we didn't want to strain the cv joints by going negative, small amount of added caster to aid turn in.

The car seems to handle much better than it did with the subtle blocks (even though they're a lot higher) but I'm anxious to see the alignment figures.

I have the exact (ok, different color) lathe at work, great machine. Our live center sits in the same spot.

Looks like some great work on the lift, cant wait to see the pics.:iconwink:
