Strut top lift basics

Very cool! I love Quebec city, such a beautiful place. I did a bike tour from QC up to Lac St Jean, I'm hoping to do a car trip up there some day.

I don't know if you know this, but there's an oil pickup in the bottom of your oil pan (which is right in the middle of the front of the car) - if it's damaged from impact, your engine can destroy itself quite quickly. This is one of the big reasons I'm happy to have a skid plate now. Definitely try to keep that in mind when you're off roading, it'd suck to get stranded in the middle of nowhere in a ZEC.

I don't know if you've heard of this, but you might be interested. I'd love to drive on this road with my forester some day. https://jamesbayroad.com/ttr/index.html

I didn't know that road! It does seem cool. But I definitely wouldn't go there without a full bullbar, else a deer, caribou or worse, a moose, would end the trip pretty quickly... And at least one spare (full-size) wheel.

That being said... Although it looks fun, it costs so much going up north (fuel, food, etc...) that I'd probably choose to go somewhere else instead (I've been thinking of Iceland lately...)

But I do plan on hiking the Groulx mountain range sooner than later, and going up there means traveling a road that's very similar to the James Bay Road albeit much shorter (about 200km).

After checking with Primitive and Subtle, both recommended me to stay under the 1.5in figure if all I am getting are the spacers (no lenghtened arms or whatever).

So I'm thinking: .75+.50 front with .75+.75 rear +2x camber bolts for the rear. Thoughts?

I'd be getting them from Primitive as I'm already getting the full armor kit from them, but I must say, Sublte has awesome comms and have been very helpful. I wouldn't hesitate a single second to order anything from them.

I'd prob go with a 2" camber compensating strut top lift kit as the difference is only 1/2" (12mm) but you dont have to mess around with altered camber &/or camber bolts.

Sumo Parts - Off Road have a new 2" kit they're doing. A bit expensive but the price should come down as more people get them

Saw that one, but it's about 200$ more than the Primitive option... Not sure 12mm is worth 200$ with the current state of my wallet :/
