Mate, you'd be getting about 3.6 mpg from those ratios, because you'd be doing about 5000 rpm at about 50 kmh ... :iconwink: :lol:
The mid-1980s Audi Fox had this sort of gearing ... ; so did my Austin Kimberley, originally (16.9 mph/1000 in top - I changed it to 22.5 mph/1000 ... ).
IMO, one wants a reasonable balance of on and off road performance in most vehicles.
Tweaks are one thing; completely screwing up the drive train is another altogether! :biggrin: LOL!
My first gear in Low Range does feel abit trippy really and you can never really take off smoothly in it.
Personally I would choose an SF box and gearset, with SG 5th gear, 1.61.1 low range, 4.44 diffs, vortex centre diff lock with AWD and front geared LSD. Rear manual or electronic engaging locker. Strengthened gears would be nice too
