I'm bored so thought I would start this thread.

Everyone obviously cooks, what do you like to cook? Whats your favourite food?
I cooked Lemon Chicken for dinner, was an awesome pasta dish. The best bit is living by myself it will be there in the fridge for dinner tomorrow

Thai green chicken curry. From scratch though because the packet and jar stuff just isn't the same.

Salad Nicoise is a winner in summer. Serena tuna And fresh basil is key.

Mum makes an awesome Thai green chicken curry. Love it!

My favourite thing to cook is potato bake. Pretty easy and sooo good (potatoes are my favourite thing in the world!)

Otherwise i made a mean silverside which was awesome, or the good ol' spag.

I love anything pasta. Not keen at all on the packet or frozen stuff. Only the rear stuff is any good.

A good burnt bbq is a favourite too :D

When 4wd'n - hamburgers are the go for me.

Usually consisting of a white bread roll, toasted; pre-sliced cheese, tomato, tomato sauce (sometimes), meat patty and spinach leaves.

Gold.

How can you possibly be bored mate?
So much to do and learn, with so little time!
EVEN if you are 19 y.o., it's truly staggering how quickly one becomes nearly 65 y.o. ... :rotfl:
Don't waste a second of it ... :iconwink:

I cook a pretty mean spag bol (spaghetti bolognaise for our non-Oz mates). Learned the basic recipe at my Mother's knee (or some other low joint ... ). Took me around 15 years to "perfect" it. Now I am flat out remembering how to make it ... LOL!

Also not bad at steak, so people tell me.

Love pasta, rice and anything to do with tomatoes ... always loved my vegies.

SWMBO is a bloody good cook. Stew, stir fry, soup, roasts, fried rice - she can even make a toasted sandwich better than anyone else I can think of.

Apart from the rather large range of foods I am allergic to, my main problem is eating too much of anything and everything. Really need to lose about 6 kgs to be around the weight I was when I was in my early twenties.

Going for the occasional walk instead of living on this forum probably wouldn't hurt ... :iconwink: :rotfl:

YUM  :).

Only Italians can cook spaghetti! Spag bol is not the only spaghetti- there is much better stuff. Bologna may be a nice place, but that does not mean their version of spaghetti is best. Not by a long shot. Having a fair bit of wog blood in my veins, I know damn well who makes the best spaghetti and no restaurant I have ever been to comes remotely close. In fact, I won't even order it anymore as I have always been disappointed.

Italian food- simply the best. By a country mile.

I'll have to side w/ Rally on that one. Looooove Italian! Real mexican food (or texmex even) is right at the top of my list. If you're anywhere north of Dallas though, regardless of what you think, the mexican food eslewhere is CRAP! Those cajuns down in the bayou also make some tasty grub - as long as you don't ask too many questions about what you're eating! Have to admit i make a mean pot of Jambalaya. Catfish/Shrimp Etouffee is GREAT!

Also like making anything i can on the charcoal grill. I'm convinced that if you can make it in the oven, if done properly, you can do it in the pit & will turn out much tastier! Especially Pizza

I'm surprised to hear you say that mate. I would have thought one of your lamb roasts over a camp fire would've been right up there.
It is for me :raspberry: Thats for sure
I do like a good pepper steak if it's cooked right :quitar:
A nice piece of beer battered fish (Flathead) can be very nice too :iconwink:

I also like a good Tuna Pasta too :)

When it's midnight and your awake with nothing happening on the forums it's pretty easy to get bored!
Yes I never have enough time, but the biggest problem is that there isn't enough daylight for me.
Don't say that! I don't want to become old fast  But it happens to all of us :iconwink:
Gotta live life to the fullest. Make mistakes, learn from them, make more... :raspberry:
Damn now I want to go out and have fun.

Not a great video.. but it was my first attempt... I worked in a Brazilian BBQ place for a while and learned a bit of there style... you seriously should try this it's great... no need for skewers like these, just use the grill side with the open flame:

I like to get 3 or 4 spuds on the barbie in 4mm slices with salt pepper and herbs on them then add some pumpkin. Get some pork and cut the fat and rub Salt and oil into it and arrange it fat down on high heat to get it crispy. Get some asparagus and broccolini on the grill and spray it with oil so it fire roasts and add a bit of chilli and garlic. Then drop the pork on its sides to get it cooked then throw on some squash and zucchini with a dash of lemon pepper over the lot. And of course no barbie is complete without a coopers sparkling ale.

Because of the size of Texas, Mexican or TexMex food is tends to vary by region (north, east, south, or west). I prefer the southern variety, which has a strong influence in east and central Texas. The western begins along the New Mexico border and continues as far as the Phoenix area (I ain't been farther west than that) has a totally different flavor that is copied north of Dallas and across a large part of the midwest and northern east coast. :puke:

Totally agree with your follow up post as anything on the grill is worth the time and effort. Brisket, Fajitas (beef skirts for the guys way down south), Shrimp, Planked Trout or Salmon, Corn with lime butter, Burgers, (now I'm hungry, thanks Matt!!).

Cajun........what more can be said? If you ain't had it you ain't ate yet!!!

$*^# anything that comes out of a dutch oven is to die for.
