Good move, Carl

Thanks Hillcountry!!!

Been meaning to add this too for a long time, the new property came with updated care equipment and it's own crew.:iconwink:

Thats my boy, and my new Cub Cadet LTX 1046. We've got our timing down, he does the riding mower bit while I do the push mower/string trimmer bit and we finish right about the same time.

Nice mower Carl :) I reckon your boy would love riding that, hell I'd want a turbo one(seen it done on youtube :P)

Is that YotaRu in the background?

No turbo on the mower, I'd like it to be the last one I have to buy. Almost might as well be a turbo, it cut my mowing time in half over my old POS.

Yes that is YotaRu back there. I took the pic quite a while ago, we are pretty much out of mowing season. I've got one more "clean up" mowing to do, then done for the season.

Looking good carljwnc :raz:
It looks like all the hard work you've put in is really paying off

Mr Turbo

Good to see the little guy keeping guard :rotfl:

He's doing pretty good, but we have a mole that he hasn't taken care of yet. A scarecrow is in the works too, just have to get it built.:lildevil:

Thanks Mr. T!!! Even though we had our neighbor with his tractor/tiller do the initial tilling, we had to remove a lot of rocks by hand. Then the bed building and final tilling was all done by hand, I can't remember the last time I worked so physically hard at doing something. Now it's just waiting and weeding.

If the mole isnt irregular or different shades & hasnt grown it should be OK, but if you're worried you can just have it cut out to be sure :iconwink: :rotfl:

Good work Carl.
We saw a large field of fresh sprouts yesterday that was guarded by cut outs of 15 stalking cats. Thats a 1st!

This particular mole might need a stomp on the head, but that might upset the family, may have to go with Gravel_Rocks suggestion, or borrow the neighbors cat. One of the dogs may get lucky on a walk around the garden too.

Of course, we can't help joke about this; remember Carl from Caddy Shack???

Havent seen caddy shack for years...what a classic! Love the bit where he blows up the golf course :rotfl:

Cat cut-outs...awesome :rotfl:

I really didn't even care about the garden, I just wanted to build a scarecrow.:iconwink: It was a fun build, my son helped out a lot and we had a bunch of fun.

Hopefully it works for rabbits too, they seem to be the biggest problem. Now if it would just stop raining for a bit, we might be able to get the garden presentable again, non stop rain for the last month or so and we're over run with weeds.

Definitely a cool father-son project, Carl!

Weather looks to be hot and dry for the next week or so. Definitely hope that things dry out. I'm tired of living in a swamp and the dogs leaving muddy paw prints all over.

As for the rabbits, I remember my French grandfather telling me how much he hated them, and that he would just sit on a lounge chair with his rifle, waiting to get them. As a little boy, I was horrified that my grandpa would shoot "bunnies." Now I understand, and suggest that you look into some father-son rifle action. ;)

Yes the rabbits can be & are a huge problem in some areas.

I was thinking the exact same thing as Escher :bananagunner::bananagunner::bananagunner:

I don't think the rabbits are too huge a problem, and if they were, I'd have two huge problems with shooting them...my 9yo little girl and my wife would not go for it. So we'll have to hope the scarecrow works on the rabbits too. We did put some aluminum pie pans on him so they will make noise in the wind.

Anyway, we've had a bunch of radishes and kale so far, soon we should be having some cucumbers, tomatoes, and corn. Sadly, we have been getting pummeled with rain and the weeds have gotten way out of control, hopefully this weekend will bring some nicer weather to get it back under control.
