Will they fit before I get my car lifted or not does anyone know? I've got a 1998 Forester S model.

215/65R16 or 215/75R16 Fit without too much trouble? any experience?

65's yes.
70's yes, but just & only just.
As for the 75's, no they won't.

I just slapped 215/75/15 on my car today I'm so happy

That's great to hear mate.

What kind?

Fifteen inch rims give a lot more choice than 16" rims.
Also, in Oz we have very tight legal restrictions on what can, and cannot, be fitted in the way of tyres.

Many of those restrictions gradually crept in to stop the sort of bloody stupid things that my generation did to cars and tyres/rims in our youth ... (I am in my mid-60s).

Most of our rules are eminently sensible; even if, well ... restrictive :iconwink: .

I have 1" lift on my 2012 Forester (original 215/65R16
What the biggest size of tires may fit ?

What kind of modification is necessary to fit a 215/70/R16 tire on an SF. I want to get some decent AT's and that size is what I'm looking for but I don't want to swap to SG struts if I can avoid it.

If I do end up swapping to SG struts, what is the max. tire size I could then fit? I plan on purchasing the SUMO 2" lift in the near future, If I do end up swapping to SG struts, would I have to purchase the lift for the SG. It is clear I have to go about this strategically lol. And How difficult is it to swap the SG struts for the stock SF struts?

Thanks for the quick replies. I've been aware of the General Grabber at2's, that is the tire I had in mind, but lets just say i decide to go with the 215/70/16. what would I have to do to my spring seats?

You would.need to.mod.bottom of struts or i believe someone on here used nessan struts of.some.sort . i have 04 forester struts on my legacy with 215/75r15 and it almost rubbs spring perch.

SG rear struts will fit straight into an SF with no mods afaik and the biggest tyres that wil fit an SG strut is 225/70/R16.
