$150 and you could be in the snorkel club!

Not sure mate

Could they be used to help/guide the hose into the air box, from the inside of the front guard/fender maybe ?

Regards
Mr Turbo

That's what I was thinking, but the metal piece does not have any holes to mount it anywhere, but regardless, I started the project about an hour ago and should be finished with it tomorrow assuming nothing goes wrong! (I have been taking pictures along the way so it will be easier for the next person!)

I just picked up mine and was wondering too lol. The rubber piece is to connect the snorkel to the alloy piece. I think the alloy piece is a flange used to attach to the Pajero airbox. I'm guessing you need to drill your own holes. However, I wont be using it, I'll get my own to attach to the Subaru air box.
I will ask at LPG fitters for flexible hoses plus they may have the flange i need.

BTW, did you find your template was useless with the holes in the wrong spot?

Please let us know how you decided to position it on the panel...I have been wondering where to place it

I'm of the same opinion :)

The guys who fitted my snorkel just chucked the template away.
Just remember the template that comes with the snorkel is for (in this case) a Pajero & not a Forester :iconwink:

I'm gonna make my own template for a Foz :)
I'f anyone wants one I'll be able to post it to them. But first I need to do it lol. Before I do the snorkel I have to attach a primary airbox so I can ditch the stupid one on top of the engine that is such a pain to get to

I'd keep it mate and just route yuor piping to that.
Seen it done, looks neat and works well.

Yeah but I want an air filter that is easy to get to, so after every trip on dusty roads I just take it out and give it a quick shake (the filter that is! :P) to prolong its life. I'm sick of undoing all those bolts and the throttle body hose just to do a stupid air filter! :furious:

Mr. Fuji had a bad day when he designed that bit :shake:

I leave the 1 bolt off so it's just the 3 clips and out it comes. You don't need to take the front or back plastic section off, just push the back part back and pull out the panel filter, easy as pie :iconwink:

Nachaluva, if you don't have this fitted up by the time Mt Cole comes around (wishful thinking!) Could you bring it along so I can compare it on the side of Ruby Scoo?

Cheers

yep no probs

Oh this just reminded me of the best catch from my trip to Burketown.... on the way to one of the fishing spots we drove past a public tip, for some reason I decided stop in and have a look.. and found an NH pajero upside down... with a snorkel! unfortunately it didn't have the scoop on top but I ripped it off anyway and now have some ideas to make it a better fit, anyone have an old airbox they want to get rid of??

So this will fit on the L series neatly? I'm keen to know, hopefully Nachaluva will be bringing his on the next 4wd trip for me to check out against the side of the L series. Very keen to know what it will look like and how well it will work plus the ease of the mod.

Cheers

Has anyone tried an snorkel for an Mitsubishi MK Triton?

i have just compared a heap of side on photos of the forester, pajero and triton as well as snorkels for each on ebay, side by side.

it looks as tho the snorkel for the Triton has a slightly greater angle than the Pajero (closer to that of the Forester) so it may not require any bending.

Yes, I have a snorkel for an MN Triton - works well on my MN Triton :raz:

I've never compared the line & dimensions between the 2 but could be an interesting exercise. The Triton has a fairly short nose for the size of vehicle so it may just suit the Foz. I'll have a quick look see.

BUMP
After my mechanic said he had to clean sand/mud out of my air box I pulled the trigger on the ebay monty snorkle. Will be joining the club offically in about two weeks.
