And along came a deer...

Dude, ouch that sucks. Have you even gotten the deer repair done yet???

She backed into my rear quarter panel this afternoon. Just another reason women don't need to be driving full sized trucks..

You can't be gender specific about this, there are way more men out there that can't handle the big beasts they drive than women. I see it all too often.

Heck no i haven't got the deer hit replaced yet! I have been putting everything off until we get moved as that is my #1 priority. I claimed it originally, but then cancelled when i found out i could get a new hood & have it painted for cheaper than my deductible. So i stuck the grill back in & it's not really noticeable unless u see it from the side.

On another note, the inlaws insurance figured they would TOTAL my forester! At first i said no way because i knew i wouldn't be able to find a used subie in as good condition as mine for the money they wanted to pay ($3700). My 2nd option was the "owner retention" route. They are basically giving me $2800 for the dent & i get to keep! (no totaled vehicle history on title). This turned out really cool because i took it to 3 body shops and they said they could fix/ replace it for between $1400-$1600, so obviously i made out pretty good. It usually works out the other way with insurance coming in way lower then the body shops. I 'spose i cut a fat hog in the a$$ on this one.

Since it is a '99 with nearing 180,000 miles (almost 290,000 km) i figure i can have someone pop the dent best they can, then fix my hood when we get up to northern country. Get out of this whole thing for around $600. With her age, a little ding isn't going to make any diff in price.

Woohoo :woohoo:

Great to see the customer win for a change, instead of the insurance company
