scooby's foz

I purchased a '98 foz S model. 2.5l, 4eat, lsd..

I love this rig..after having an outback and hatchie..It's the perfect fit.

The plan is to lift, snorkel, Mud terrains, skid plates, custom front bumper, winch, cargo basket, cb, window tint, led lights.

Future plans are h6 swap and awd dual range..

I got it cheap so I had a few bits to replace..

Oil changed, front and rear diffs fluid change, new plugs, wires, radiator, front skid plate installed(primitive).
Replaced both front inner cv boots, replaced missing bellhousing nut!
Pressure wash engine, trans. , hand wash car twice...Was sitting under a tree...

It runs and drives great..

tire test..

Thosehankook tyres look great & mighty aggressive too

How do they handle when you're offroading ?

Regards
Mr Turbo

They're unreal offroad...! They dig in the gravel and (less float)
They claw their way up the steeps without needing low range!:lildevil:
The rocky loose stuff is much easier...

more mods...

I swapped the magnaflow muffler from the outback on the foz, cut/gutted cats(rewelded). much better power and that boxer sound I was missing..

I also upgraded the speakers with some JBl 426's rear doors, JBL 625's in the front doors..

Oh the joy of Front wheel drive...WTH....?

So I was out and about at Mt. Hood with a buddy and we hit some muddy steeps..I start to head up and no traction from the rear...:surprised:

So we finally got to the top with a quick pull from my buddy's rig a few yards.. I jacked up the back and realized there was no power going to the rear driveline..

After abit of research I deduced it was the transfer clutches. I had no trans codes (if the duty C solenoid failed).

Once I pulled the back half apart of the trans and removed the clutch pack . They were down to metal ....

My cost from the dealer with clutch pack/gasket was only $149 US..

I'll give thanks after I go the mtn to fresh snow Thankgiving day..

Yeah ! But if you had low range with the 4eat, you'd be the king :lildevil:
