scooby's foz

I purchased a '98 foz S model. 2.5l, 4eat, lsd..

I love this rig..after having an outback and hatchie..It's the perfect fit.

The plan is to lift, snorkel, Mud terrains, skid plates, custom front bumper, winch, cargo basket, cb, window tint, led lights.

Future plans are h6 swap and awd dual range..

I got it cheap so I had a few bits to replace..

Oil changed, front and rear diffs fluid change, new plugs, wires, radiator, front skid plate installed(primitive).
Replaced both front inner cv boots, replaced missing bellhousing nut!
Pressure wash engine, trans. , hand wash car twice...Was sitting under a tree...

It runs and drives great..

That is going to be a fairly complete Off Road Subie collection, or do you still have something you want to add to it?

I retrofitted my Primitive front skidplate from my outback to the foz.
It's temporary so I can save for my lift..

saving the foz..!

I dodged a bullet..
I had a missfire on #1,#2 and lot of vibration...
The front crank seal was leaking so I checked it out.

The crank pulley bolt was loose and damaged the dampner.
The woodruff key rolled over throwing the timing of about a tooth.

The crank was ok and I had an extra dampner from my outback.
It runs perfect now ...time for a frothy brew...

Looks like you dodged a bullet thats for sure :surprised:
Glad you found it, before it found you, where it would have caused some serious damage :)

load testing the foz

I had the foz laden down with gear for the weekend scaled @ 3,750lbs.
Skis, ski pulk, camp gear, recovery gear..

The Foz got a good brushing, then a proper wash...

I found some good backroad trails @ Mt.Bachelor..

I had to put in some inspirational music...

I painted the grille black with bumper paint.

Then swapped my 16" alloys for a set of (5)15" steelies plus $200 in my pocket(kingsprings). They will be painted black.
Hankook mud terrains are next along with my lift the next couple weeks.
Kings springs are on order and HDPE 1" strut spacers from paranoid fabrications.

Great pics and video. AC/DC.....whew, that's a blast from the past. As for the radio, I always wanted one with a weather band. Wonder why that ain't standard on ALL car radios?
