After 2+years of testing i guess ill reveal my $30 Lift

FUZE, did you have to go get an alignment done after the lift. Or, did you just adjust the camber bolts and eye it?

I had it aligned and everything zero'd out.

I've got all the parts and I'm gonna go ahead and lift the Forester this weekend. I'll take some before and after pictures for anyone who cares.

Also, are there any weird things that I wouldn't have thought of when installing the lift? Any things that you wish that someone had told you before you started pulling things apart?

If you have trouble knocking out the old studs, just hit them side to side with a hammer. They will come out eventually. The only thing i wish someone told me about was nylon locking nuts. They don't come loose and would make this lift even more reliable. Good Luck. It should be very straight forward.

Looking forward to seeing the car lifted!

Finally got the lift finished up. Took a lot longer than I expected. None of the bolts wanted to get out of there and I didn't have any air tools.

I'll get some better pictures but I'm really happy with how it turned out and it a pretty straight forward job.

Fuze's walkthrough was thorough and the lift worked out really well.
Thanks to everyone else who posted in hear for helping me out too.

Only problem I have is that the light in the car is saying that the parking break is on. I drove it around a bit and it doesn't feel like it is. I checked the break connections and everything seems fine. Anyone have any idea what to look for to fix that?

AWESOME!

Could the abs sensors in the front be unplugged?

looks like this thread is dead but ill post anyways. i did this lift today, super easy. the only thing i didnt realize i need was spring compressors, so i could get the old bolts out by taking off the top of the strut. thanks for sharing this with all us.

You can actually hammer them out. There is just enough room. No need for compressors.

We used a tie rod puller and an impact wrench with a socket on the back side of the stud. It worked perfectly. I'll post pics of what I'm talking about later when I have my phone.

EDIT:
assemble pieces over stud with a nut on top(tie rod end puller was pointed slightly)

1.5 sec with the impact gun and its free.. seriously the easiest thing ever.

I'm strongly considering this setup to lift my forester.. Is this just a strut lift and that is all? Or am I missing a body lift or something... I plan to use this mod, + king springs on stock struts, or possibly even no king springs at all.. Just the 2" blocks and stock suspension.

Stilson, what kindof terrain are you on?
