Wow guys that looks like great fun!

I've experienced your slick clay before in a corolla on "dry weather only" roads - they really mean it!

You can't beat the rush of adrenalin when your to far in to go back, yet you know to go on is lunacy.

Oh yes you can.
The rush of adrenalin as the Medivac helicopter takes you out after the 'rush of adrenalin' has precipitated atrial fibrillation ...

Glad you all made it back with out major damage.

Thanks. Haven't heard from Phiz yet after he has had the chance to have a closer look at his OB.

BTW, that QLD steel sump guard you referred to in the other thread looks to be a better deal than alloy, depending on the shipping. I will ring them tomorrow and find out what the go is.

Still haven't looked under the car for damage, no doubt there will be a few more dents under there.
Front bumper is broken more, again. But I don't care as there will be a bullbar on it soon sometime!
Steering makes some noises when turning to the left, but that might be because the left steering boot was broken and I got water in it. Might need to clean it out, grease it up and put a newie on there.

Even though it got a little scary, still had a great time and got that adrenaline rush I haven't had since I went co-driving in my mates Brumby. (On a 4Runner chassis with Holden v6 and a drag strip built auto rolling on 35" tyres).

Anyhow looks like you've all done the talking, I'll share some pictures now!

Some roads, similar to the condition of the ones I live on.

Looking just a little bit slipperier. This was about 500m before the first decent

Wow, that clay looks slicker than ice. I don't think it would have mattered much what kind of vehicle you were in, you would have been sliding. Thanks for the pics Phiz.

I'd be thankful you did ... :iconwink:.
It would have been just that much more dangerous for another vehicle. The "track" was just a slippery slide after the three of us ...

Ah, but this is Venoms mighty H6 Liberty...one of the most capable offroaders on the forum! :lildevil:

Yep me too, but I didnt enjoy knowing how close I was to bending panels

Gee that was steep!

I think this is the spot Phizinza massaged a tree with his bumper. You can see the next drop in front of his car :lildevil:

Wow that does look slippery alright
And that drop in front of Phizinza's car does look menacing indeed :surprised:

Great pics Phizinza :raz: Thanks for sharing :)

Wow, that is some slick lookin sh**! Reminds me of the red dirt/clay you see on a lot of Oklahoma's backroads.

Gidday Folks

Thanks Phiz.

I didn't realise that I had actually managed to avoid those really bad ruts at the top by using the tactics that we all agreed on.

[EDIT] Don't know how the frog lights got switched on - probably while I was trying to avoid having a "trouser event", LOL! [end edit]

Just as well I did, or our mechanic would be giving me even more curry than he did yesterday!!

Yeah but then we both slid into the ruts below trying to avoid the clay bog on the side, which was heavily sloped & had me thinking avoid at all costs!

Wow :surprised:
I must say well done, especially on that clay, in such trying conditions :bananatoast:

Great vid too by the way :raz:

Thanks Mr.T, but I cant really claim credit for keeping it on the track...the ruts did it for me

I looked pretty nervous up the top lol ;)

Thanks to Phizinza who did a great job telling us where to go!

We did a trip once & when woke up to our surprise, it had snowed overnight
The only way out was via the clay tracks & they were as slippery as an ice-skating rink :lildevil:
On one particular down hill, which was heavily rutted, we were in the laps of the gods so to speak :o
There was no way were going to be able to ride high on them, it was just way toooo slippery. Once at the bottom, one of the guys described it perfectly :p
He said it was like being in a slot car & I had to agree

So yes I know what you mean

Haha +1 ;)

I was spending more time watching the car, not through the lens to direct, then film, but looks like I got most of it on video. It was fun... Just need that lift and some AT's so I don't bottom out on ruts (although probably nothing you can do to an Outback or Forester to stop it bottoming out on those ruts...)

A few piccies from one of my cameras:

Too right!!:mob:

Thanks mate. I like Phiz standing up at the top right of the slope in the last one, directing NL as best he could ... :rotfl:.
It does give some sense of scale to the wretched slippery slides!
