What do / did you do for a 'crust' (i.e. your work)

Land Surveyor by trade. Became a Registered Surveyor but became very tired of doing many of 8 different types of identification surveys day in day out.

Turned my hand to Engineering Surveying and went back to Uni to study Civil/Structural Engineering.

Went and worked over in the UK as Project Engineer/Project Manager.

Came back to Australia after 5 years and got into Quantity Surveying/Cost Planning/Estimating.

Been doing that for the past 6 years.

NOTHING:).
Not interested much in work anymore. I have done a lot of retail and many other things like a season in a sugar mill, cleaning (industrial), chocolate factory, smallgoods factory (Castlemaine Bacon), 2IC of a Woolworths petrol station, run my own corner stores and supermarket and fruit shop, made money, gone broke, drunk too much, and assorted other things.
I've lived and worked in every state in Australia except Tassie and SA.
I now do volunteer work for the Salvation Army on mondays and Lifeline on tuesdays.
I worked for Blazeaid after the Vic floods and when i take off on my trip up north i will call into Townsville to see if i can do something.
I don't have a lot of money but have adjusted my life to suit my income and all is good.
LOVE playing with the sharemarket and do quite well at it.:)
By the way....does anyone else play with the sharemarket.....maybe we could start a new thread.

My nephew started off driving trucks ...
Now he is State Manager for the firm up north ... :)

He has done very well for himself too.

Ability will out ...

So do people enjoy their jobs- do they find it interesting. For example, PlazaXT has a 5 acre property he farms. That's a fairly small block of land for a farm- so it would seem to be something unusual and therefore interesting to know what he grows. Silver's situation seems to have some merit too. I find people find my line of work interesting when I tell them what I do- so it would be interesting to go into a bit more detail if it is something out of the ordinary that other people do

Work for me has been pretty random, but never dull :)
