Tip to our members not in the harbour city. If you want to see the worlds best new years eve fireworks- look at Sydney's. While there are some great efforts from a number of cities, nothing gets close to the pyrotechnics display from the coat hanger. Let's have a great year offroading in 2012!

Yes I'll 2nd that :)

If you are out & about for the celebrations on NYE, be safe & stay safe :raz:

And here's to many an offroading adventure in the up & coming year of 2012 :discomonkey:

Regards
Mr Turbo

What! You mean we won't see it from Melbourne?! :raspberry:

One of these days I'll travel up there to see it, its always pretty spectacular...

I heard on the news this year that the normal free vanatge points for viewing the fireworks will be charging out the :censored: for you guys. City Parks, National Parks, etc for like $20 a head.

I think they say there are over a million people on the harbour foreshores and no doubt they make a lot of mess. I can live with a $20 fee if that is what it is- although it will vary from council to council. It is after all a great show and the clean up bill should be paid by those who make the mess. The real problems are the drunks- especially at The Rocks, Kings Cross and near the Botanical Gardens- and getting home afterwards. They have had alcohol free zones in most of the viewing areas- that hopefully will help a lot.

One day I will have to come and see it in person rather than just on the TV.

At the present time I must be one of very few 18 year olds not to have any plans for new years tonight :(

Thats why we have Subies...so we can drive up to our own vantage point :monkeydance:
Hahaha, best comment I've read this year

Happy New Year to you all. Even after all these years, the Sydney fireworks never cease to amaze me. Will be sitting back and enjoying it from the balcony at home with family.

Can't wait to do some offroading one of these days. I love this time of year!

NOW you tell us you have views!

Happy and safe New Years everyone!!!

I'll be spending it in some hotel room between South Florida and Western NC somewhere.

In limited parts of the Southeast AAA is offering Tow and Go to get you and your car home should you celebrate a little too much.:iconwink::bananatoast:You don't even have to be a AAA member.

Well, once again the fireworks were very impressive.

Shiv, we must meet up at some stage- before years end for sure- somewhere with a fine view of the harbour!

Good to hear

Happy New Years guys, lets make this one another great one for offroading!!!

Oh well, as noted above the fireworks display was excellent and I shared a fun night with friends down in the shire. I left shortly after the fireworks ended and could not believe the traffic on the M5. To the uninitiated, the M5 is the worst motorway for people hogging the right (overtaking) lane and sitting at 15-20 km/h below the speed limit. Maybe- just maybe in the early hours I thought for once I might get a clean run- but alas it was not to be! Seems like there were no issues with the drunks this year so maybe I might head down to the harbour for this years party. We'll see. Hope everyone had a great party- and for those further away still stuck in 2011 for heavens sake hurry up and join in the fun!

You have more guts than me mate :egeek:
There's no way you'd catch me driving in the early hours on new years day, especially the M5 :shake:

How'd the Forry go (I take it you took the Forry) with the new radiator for the trip ? It would have been a good test for it :)

Regards
Mr Turbo

Yeah, the Forrie was fine, but the real test will be a hot day on the freeway. I'm heading down to Canberra next week- that should be a good test if it is hot

Happy New Years (finally)! Sort of like talking into the future with you guys. ;)
You know what they say Nach... The sun may rise in the east, but it sets in the west
