Gen 3 outback lifting questions, help needed

I sure did, didn't really want to bust up my foot :raspberry:
I managed to get my big toe with the whipper snipper yesterday trying to get some stray grass growing up the fence by turning the snipper on its side, funnily enough it made under my nail bleed:

It's a pretty toe aint it:P

Well done guys! (but pls wear boots!)
Ditto :)
Especially with the shoes / boots. The last thing you want or need is a busted up foot & unable to drive :sadbanana:

When are you guys taking it out for a test drive ? Can't wait to hear all about how it performs now that you have the lift installed :raz:

Regards
Mr Turbo

Looks like fat self leveler to me:
https://opposedforces.com/parts/legacy/en_b12/type_27/suspension_and_axle/rear_shock_absorber/

Usually, we don't mix raised springs with self leveling struts (the struts get replaced with a standard strut) but I do seem to recall that someone may have done it before.

Yeah i honestly didn't think my car had them, ive towed a massive boat behind my car and the HEIGHT HI light on the dash never came on, o well i havent got the money atm to replace the shocks ill just replace the springs and wait till i have some funds after christmas.

G'day tuckerbag :welcome:

Oh bugger, struts aint cheap :(

Hi guys, thank you for the warming welcome :)

There is a raised spring option for self leveler according to their catalog.

I can see what you're saying but I think if you get the raised springs you need to get the replacement shocks. Even though the catalog does say "KSRR-29SP" (rear) & no fronts shown for 3rd Gen OB with S/L rear.

But I think they've got the catalog mixed up. AFAIK, self-levelling suspension works by the strut supporting most of the weight & the spring only a little. This is why they dont last very long. Subaru have some great innovation, but this is not one of their better ideas!

So the spring is very light by comparison to non S/L struts. I'm sure HD raised springs are not compatible.

So you ditch the S/L struts & put in normal struts, in this case:
"USE KYB 341276 IN REAR WITH KSRR-29SPC".

I hope I got this right as I dont think King Springs did...its not the first mistake they've made! :madred: :yell: :furious:

I had to replace my 'SL' struts when I fitted longer king springs and 1" blocks.

O really? When i took the springs back to Repco the lad working there rang king springs and the guy on the phone said they make raised springs that work with the self levellers..im confused
They ordered the KSRR-29SP for me, they are supposed to work with the self levellers and it does say raised on the catalogue, guess ill wait and see..
