Forester X MY 03 Mods

NICE, I have an 03 that I am wanting to put Kings Springs and KYB shocks and I was wondering if you had any trouble installing the springs. I live in the Ozark Mtn. of NW Arkansas (USA) I love what you guys are doing to your rides, but the block lift worries me. I have installed a metal sump guard and a cargo basket so for, the 03 has 120,000 miles and has been in some rough places plus driving across corn fields hunting pheastants. I would appreciate any comments

Unfortunately I am not mechanically minded I paid someone probably far too much money to install. They look great and still enjoy the ride, I belive they actually improved it to no end. Exciting news though, Rear Bar / Jerry Can / Spare on the way along with new new exhaust and dyno tune due to excess weight. Thanks for the comments so far guys, still havent sourced some seat covers yet!!!!!!!

Already had spare rims painted custom so after this final steps are lift and the big boy tyres ( Oh plus some flexi flares I think ).

Stimulus made me do it!

haha mate. great ride! im jealous!

i LOVE that excuse! "stimulus made me do it!"

fantastic job, looking forward to seeing the outcome. got any interior shots?

No interior shots yet...

BUT,

Rear bar next week, jerry and trye doodads too.

Say, what if any modifications did users find they had to make once a rear bar was fitted? (Power, exhaust, anything? )... They look heavy.

Still no lift kit though, end of the year I reckon...

^ I needed to replace axle-back exhaust to tuck the muffler up out of the way. I got a fairly standard Lukey and the job was done by Carline - cost about $190 - a few years ago.

I did the same thing when I had my rear bar put on.

When I saw my Forry with the new rear bar fitted & how low the exhaust was hanging, I said to myself 'that doesn't look right' so I had it changed.

Now it's tucked up nicely & up out of the way. It also helps with the departure angle aswell, which is the main reason why I put the rear bar on in the first place.

Regards
Mr Turbo

Ok rear bars on, see what you mean about the exhaust!

Can either of you Pm me a photo of the exhuast so I know what to get done?

Photos up soon... Origins on!

Exhaust done, and then some!

That sounds awesome.
I think I'd better start saving :lildevil:

Added K&N Hi Flow Air Filter today snuggly.

Interested to see if I can feel the extra 1 - 5hp gain.

On a sadder note, my Hema Navigator shat itself (Wont turn on or off), luckily still under warranty but of course the shop of purchase origin has closed down. Luckily the have head offices open Australia wide so worse case scenario I will send it off on Monday and hopefully get a replacement ASAP. Kind of feel lost without it, even if I just use it to add the bling factor.

Wish me luck...

RE : Hema GPS...

I was about to pack it off for shipping and tried it again, works perfectly for the last 14 days. I had washed the car pthe previous night and they dont tolerate water at all, suspect moisture created some small issue. Since I got my windows tinted I notice extra moisture inside. SO working all good again... thank christ!

Ok, update time!

112,500km service (Found Steering rack boot melted, waterpump and thermostat o ring leak).

2 x new KYB Front Struts
2 x new KYB Rear Struts
Whiteline Alloy front Swaybar links
Whiteline Steering rack mount bushes
Whiteline Caster correction bushes
Whiteline Rear Swaybar BSR35XZ
Whiteline Swaybar HD mount
1" Jackson Rally Strut tops
Streettuned triple gauge pod (Not installed yet)
3 x Autometer gauges - Oil pres, oil temp, water temp, electrical (not installed yet).

So impressed so far, going on 1000km trip this weekend.

Will report back, while I will lose articulation this is one serious firetrail set up.

Apparently I need to vent my engine bay, gets too hot (Even in Canberra winter conditions).

Those wheels are SWEET!!!:bcool: Took precautions, as per your post in the other thread, and all drool was safely contained.:iconwink:
