Hmmm looked tricky, well done for perserverance & ingenuity.

BTW do all subie clutch plates look like that?
 
Glad you were able to get the gear box out.

Gee's that release bearing really is a mess alright :eek:

I know when mine destroyed itself it looked bad but not as bad as your one.

This is how they should look.

Clutch and flywheel on the bottom with about 55,000-60,000km's on it. This is out of my WRX and was in perfect condition. It is now in a mates car and still going strong, having done a few motorkhanas since I gave it to her.

Clutch and flywheel on the top is from a 6 speed with unknown k's on it- bought it 2nd hand with the gearbox. Since this photo was taken, car has been double entered at a number of motorkhanas. It has endured numerous 6000+ RPM with launch control (Full boost from stationery) take offs and is in perfect condition

Ok, important question:

What grease do I use and where? Does the release bearing get grease where it contacts the pressure plate? What about the gearbox input shaft spline that goes into the clutch plate?
