Enjoy!

Hopefully I'll have some soon. In the process of building up my son (8 yo) a little 24" wheeled Mtn. Bike. Gonna' be retro, old school cool. My Mtn. Bike has sat idle for a few years now.

Super nice pics apo's!!! Certain inspiration for completing the project, which is almost done.

Project completed...and now tested.:)

I bought this frame set 20+years ago from a Cannondale rep, new in the box, '88-'89ish MY. Long before I was married and of course way before I had any kids, but I got it because it had 24" wheels and a small frame size and I was hoping someday it would be my kid's bike.

All bikes I build have at least one Campagnolo part, front QR skewer in this case.

The ride, perfect fall day here in NC. Did a big 4 miles.:iconwink:

Tomorrow is going to be another perfect fall day, and we're going for 6 miles...

Nice bike, kid, and shots, Carl!

Can't wait for our kids to ride bikes. The 3 year-old girl is currently still struggling with her Kettler balance bike, but slowly getting better at it. The 7 week-old boy has a bit further to go, obviously. But I fully expect him to become a cool-handed daredevil. :)

PS: Like the fact that you built in at least one Campy part. My friends in Texas call anything that isn't Campagnolo, i.e. anything Japerican, "vomit bike." I'm just glad that I own a bike at all.

Escher, it has been so much fun!:) Last weekend we found our 'training loop', it's about 8 mi. with a good amount of single track and challenging and varied enough that Hayden will be able to learn the different sections as we do it over and over again.

Great thing is, I'm getting out and riding again after about 8 years off the bike, already feeling healthier.

Gday all,

Just got myself my 1st MTB in years - well at least since my old man picked me that one up from the tip and attempted to paint it all nice for me (im sure all our dads did that at some stage hey!!)

I got a Cannondale F7. It should be strong enough for me to go exploring a few of the trails around the Perth Hills and if nothing else have an absolute ball on!
I had the clipless pedals put on when I baught it (they are on my road bike so i thought id have no problems) but as I quickly learnt the soft sand is alot different than a nice flat sturdy path. Tried to take a small jump (when I say small it would be the size of a curb :), hit the soft sand and at about 1km/hr took a tumble to the side in front of a bunch of 10yr old kids (if you can picture it I am a 100+kg 28yr old guy on a nice new shinny MTB) but hey its all good fun and thats what I baught it for!!!

Me and a mate are planning on going into the hills in 2 weeks time, so hopefully i will try and get a few photos (especially if i can stay on the right side of the bike!!)

I love MTBing but soon after finishing my grail build I lost the time to go. I still cycle but it's all paved stuff now :( Just can't justify spending an entire day out (getting to and from the trail + the actual riding) compared to a couple of hours early in the morning.

Alright, messin'/experimenting around with some video...The dog belonged to some trail runner and popped up unexpectedly watch him on the berm, he knows how to have fun. Then of course, my mountain biking super-boy.:)

Anyone else here MTB in the NW? It sucks having to go out on your own.

I'd sure join you if I could, I did one NW ride, Tiger Mountain(?) near Seattle, it was awesome!!! But sadly, I'm a bit far from the NW these days. I'd have to say that Western NC has similar terrain and vegetation, kind of a NW in the SE.:)

ya, i MTB the southwest :-P i dont usually have a hard time not goin alone tho... me and my good friend have been goin together since jr high ^_^...

We have a bike thread goin over on Ultimate Yota right now, i think some of those people live up in oregon and washington...

Cool thanks, I'll have to check that out. I have one co-worker that I go with but it's really hit and miss for when we go. I don't mind going alone.. but I can't go too far out if I do. Plus then there is no one there to challenge me or for me to challenge which takes a whole part out of the experience.

Hey all.
I ride Downhill/Freeride mostly. I own a 2007 Specialized Demo 8. Downhill rig but I'm game to give anything a shot on it. I've done a 100km road ride and kept up pretty well on it so who said Downhill doesn't take fitness! Ha!

Bike has changed a tiny bit since these photos have been taken but they were conveniently sized. More recent photos to come

Enjoy!

I remember doing Orienteering in all of these places. Back when we used to live there, I used to Orienteer quite a lot. Also remeber seeing all of them after the 2003 Bushfires :(

Only just started to get back into MTBing, starting to lose some weight, and it's great to be out on the bike again. I own a Giant Boulder Disc, so while It's not the greatest Mountain Bike but it serves me well, and it does what I want it to. I'm looking forward to getting out on to the tracks around my local area, plus I'd like to take the bike a bit further.
