PICTURE POST: your favorite off-road shot!

I did send ratbag the photo and he may at his wisdom and leisure post it, as with my neanderthal computing skills and as I shall be away for about the next three months there is little likelihood I shall get around to posting it soon.

fandizzle, you need to use a photo host site like Flickr.

Ateday, good work, the Prado must have been very embarrassed! :rotfl:

Would love to see the pics, I reckon we could even start a new thread..."when my Subie recovered a Stuck 4WD". In fact, I might do that now with LV's pic :monkeydance:

Ahh yea so annoying, I've used photobucket but obviously it doesnt like it. I have posted a pic on here in ages. What code do I use off photobucket?

Guys, here's a few pictures of my new love at Fraser Island over Christmas and New Years. 2006 xt. Heaps of off-road mods with engine work too. Will do a build thread soon.

NOTE: please can my last attempt be deleted

My favourite off road shot. It was with some intense satisfaction I drove my car up here, when no one (including me) thought we had any chance. On my old warn road tyres that would barely pass a pink slip, I was told that I should have had AT's. And I should have done a driver training course. Because clearly the tyres were no good and clearly I didn't know how to drive. The trip leader took off and he got stuck, and after a number of attempts he got out the other side. The car in front of me, a newish Pajero on brand new AT's went next. He took 3-4 goes to get out. Neither had a trailer.

So I thought, bugger it, lets go and see where we stop. Half way across, having scanned the far side of the creek, I decide where I'm going to come out. I then floor it, but that does bugger all. I then wait for the car to get stuck, like the others had. As I get closer, i reckon that maybe I was right to choose the exit point where I did. I maintain my line, and then I'm up and climbing the bank, wondering when I'll stop. Until I realise I'm not going to stop, and then wow, we're out and first go, and with a trailer as well.

I'm overjoyed, and so is everyone else. I did not realise till then that so many people were watching, as they all went nuts as well. For quite some time, as owe waited on the side of the road for the rest of our group, others would cheer me as they drove by. Once underway, and we drove by their campsites, they still cheered. So the least likely car in the whole group blew everyone away and maybe, just maybe, I had some idea of how to drive the thing.

Rally, that really was a good effort, esp with a trailer & those tyres!

I'm glad you're liking the lift! I'm not sure if I've done O'Keefe Tr but pretty much everything in Walhalla is adventurous lol

That's a pretty awesome effort Rally.

This looks prior to engine swap -- did you have LSD's and DCCD at this point?

Trying to remember. I definitely had the standard low range, and I'm pretty sure I got the DCCD after I put the SF low range in. I would have had the front and rear LSD's in though. And yes, definitely with the NA engine.

Haven't got any action shots yet :( but this would have to be one of my favourites!
Poor fella with the Jeep in the background, somehow BOTH his rear coils had fallen out and he couldn't find one of them!
