Forester with roof rack and lights

Heres a few pictures of my Forester...I order the Rola roof rack online and it shipped in about 3 days (pretty quick considering the box is pretty big and heavy). My buddy and I drilled some holes on the front bar of the rack, and I mounted a pair of Hella 500s on them.

If pretty new to this car; I got it back in October...So I've been looking around at what others are doing to their Foresters for ideas. If anyone has some thoughts, let me know!!

havent run them yet haha, but im thinking maybe down alongside the windshield and under the hood.

Looks good man. I have actually been goin between the Rola basket and the Yakima. The Rola is a great price - about $50 cheaper than the Yakima, but it's a bit shallower as well.
I plan on ordering an awning to mount on the side for outings. Did the Rola come with light mounts or did you guys just make a space?

For the Hella's - if you don't like the gawdy white stone covers, you can google "hella 500 grills" and get the other kind for them. Cost around $30 a pair, but your not always having to take off the covers when you use 'em. I like having mine.

We had to drill holes for the hella lights. I was looking around in another thread yesterday that was talking about roof basket rust, and with these new holes im a little concerned...I'll probably buy some rubber washers to fit into the bolt/nut/washer sequence to prevent water from entering the pipe.

That's exactly what i did with mine on my nudge bar. It's stock and only hollow plastic on the top part, but still didnt want water swashing around in there since i ran my wires through it. Once clamped down, there's no way water is getting in. Looks alot nicer than getting it messy with clear silicone sealer.

Just an update...got the lights rigged up to a switch near my stearing wheel. They are pretty bright!

NICE. I have a Rolla roof basket as well. I originally had two lamps mounted up on it, but since I use the sunroof a lot, the extra wind noise from the lamps proved to be too much, so I took them off.
