First thing you did to your Scoob when you got it?

cold air intake? i've been told i should do that to & increase my horsepower & gas mileage. What's your take on that?

PVC cai was the first thing
not good for river crossings though

Every Subi I've bought has been damaged/written off in some way so mainly it's been to get them regoed, back on the road then sold for a very nice profit.........except for a few.
Must have done over a dozen in the past 7yrs.

First thing I did with the Forrie was to install the UHF CB. It was going to be the tyres, but I've decided for now to keep them. Since then I've changed the sjocks and rims. With the Impreza, I can't remeber if it was the CB or the shocks- 1999 was a fair while ago now. Changed a bit since then- as many of you would know.

First thing I did was install a hitch. Got a 4000# rated hitch to tow my skiff and hold my bikerack. After that, I installed a hood guard, window vents, mudflaps and HID lights in the low beam and foglights.
Amazingly the Outbacks are rated for higher towing duty in Europe(4400#) than here in the USA(3000#), for the 3.6 versions. They are the same vehicles so I wonder why that is....

Differences are probably mostly just about local regulations. However, could also have something to do with softer US suspension settings compared to Aus / Japan / Europe.

well first, engine... since then i put the older 2.2 in her, it just seems to be a tougher engine overall.. and cheaper.
cab lights, some other interior lighting and stereo.
next... snork :) as soon as i can find one. need a pre-filter tho... maybe someone can point me in the right direction???

Changed oil, air filter, smog check, title transfer, tint windows, had dent man remove all dings, changed 4 quarts from transmission, need to do a full change, installed lift kit, got an alignment, made and installed bull bar.
Maybe more.
I have had it 3 weeks today.
I want new tires, but I have to wait and wear the ones I have out.

The first thing I did was take a photo of it when I picked it up from the car yard & given the keys.

The second thing I did was drive it home, the long way of course.

As for all the mods etc I wacked a sump guard on it 1st, then a fan cut off switch, then the rear bar, then a set of spotties & a nudge bar which didn't stay too long as I replaced it with a bullbar, together with an additional up front checkered alloy bash plate (yes I have 2x bash plates on my Forry) :poke::lol:

I've also put some shoo-roo whistles on. Next I think I added the UHF, which was quickly followed by new stuts & some raised springs. I think the snorkel was next aswell as diff breathers.

About 12 months ago I added 1" stut tops too.

I've also added a new sound system & some water proof puddle lights under & inside the front doors :iconwink: :)

The latest mod I've done was add some chasing indicator lights to my bullbar. :monkeydance:

I think thats it apart from A/T Tyres (unless I've forgotton something) at least for now anyway

Regards
Mr Turbo

From memory, this was 20 years ago, drove round to several mates place the arfternoon of buying the car (Brand new from dealer). The following day loaded the snow skiis, and chains, and went for a drive in the snow then a ski. Thats what it was bought for.

Took a few days before washing the mud off.

A few weeks later added the AM CB, driving lights, and stereo.

Heaps of additions, and mods in the 20 years since.

Beigewagon.

Took it into Baw Baw NP at the back of Walhalla and drove the wheels of it.Took it home with front end hanging off and missing bits and freed the crushed exhaust. With in a week it had a bash plate, bullbar, spotties and AT tyres so i took it up to Bunyip and did Sunset track, with the mods it made a big improvement.

first thing was fix engine cutting out.tried maf then coil then got it sussed as tps,now sweet as.fitted with rocket launchers and off down the beach.future mods will include lifted suspension/body,coil overs,16inch rims,ej20tt and lsd's.
